478 Country Buffet — Restaurant in Byron

Good food was my last review. I'm afraid for the owners that this will be my last. Upon entering I was requested to pay and give my tip which is very odd. Then I was told I couldn't use half of the restaurant that they were cleaning it. When I went to go get a seat where I wanted to there was a bucket sitting in front of it that never moved the entire time of my visit. I decided to go and look and see what was on the buffet. Quite frankly it looked old, unfilled and unappetizing. Still I digress, I went ahead and tried it anyway I got gizzards and one piece of chicken and green beans because the potatoes had macaroni and cheese in them and looked like they had been there with all of the food for at least 2 hours. I have to admit my green beans were okay but the rest of the meal was dry tasteless and old very old. I decided I'll get a salad and when I checked to get a dressing of my choice it didn't want to come through the skin that was over the top of the Russian dressing. The macaroni salad was dried a clear mayonnaise clear. I was scared to even think about eating anything that had mayonnaise in it. It gets worse. I go back to my seat and there are employees from the kitchen sitting in back of us I don't know what they were doing but they were surely intend about it and then one of them gets up goes past us I assume they were customers but one of them walked straight into the kitchen. So there's three people sitting on their butt and there's a sparse amount of anything on anything on the steam table and what is there is old and these people are sitting over there b* and that's about the time that the waitress came over cuz I was through with my moon and she thought she would hit me for a tip bad idea. I will never be back at this establishment and I will recommend to any of the fifth combat com group to not come back here because they...

Blond headed waitress was very RUDE today. I complained about having to wait 15 to 20 minutes for a drink that was paid for at my entrance to the restaurant. Then, she said, "I don't know what you ordered cause I was outside and just got back in." She said it in a very dismissive way. I told her to just forget the drink and give me a refund for it. She went and got my daughter a drink. Then, she asked others at table did they Want anything to drink. Nobody said anything. Someone asked for water as she walked away. She caught an attitude about that. The shift leader(Trent) came to the table and asked if he could get me a drink. I said "no", just a drink refund. He said, "I can't do that." It's on your ticket," no refunds will be issued by staff." I asked for the Manager name and number and he said, "I can't give you that." He went away and came back a few minutes later and asked if he could bring me a drink again. I TOLD HIM "NO", I didn't want RUDE people to get me anything. Then, he said, " this is your last chance, can I get you some water or something to drink?" I said I don't care how many times you come over, the answer will be the same. I don't appreciate rudeness by your waitress and I don't want anything from anyone that is rude to me. Customer service is of the utmost when I pay my money. I did have a 5 star review 3 months ago so that should say how long I've been coming at minimum. Well this was a different experience all together. We got our buffets to go as it was Pork chop dinner we stopped by to grab food on my husband and I way home from work. It wasn't ready when we arrived so I asked the lady cook how long it would be she just said a few minutes ok no problem. She came back out with chicken after 8 minute's and my husband was getting impatient so I asked her once again and then she replied chicken. I said yes ma'am but how long on the pork chops and she repeated chicken as I was standing and waiting for them to bring the pork chops out. I hear and see and the same lady in the back in Spanish say these fat lazy people. Well that was uncalled for so she stepped back out after a few minutes with another pan of chicken and I asked again. She then just says Chicken so because she speaks Spanish and so do I I asked about how long on the Pork Chops and excused her for assuming others can't speak Spanish. Well that was a dear in head lights she stopped paused and went to the back and then a guy came out a few minutes later with sides still no pork chops this is 23 minutes later that a different person comes out with pork chops. If your staff is going to be of Hispanic descent please advise them that because people may not look like them doesn't mean that they don't understand what there saying.
