It kind of pains me to rate my Cañon City Taco Bell so low because the people who work here are so friendly and nice. I'm not one to give out poor ratings easily, either. However--I consistently get slow and often incorrect service here to the point that I won't chance it and I'll choose another place to eat. Often I'll get the opposite of my order, items missing from my order, the wrong order ... one time I ordered a soft taco with extra cheese and was kinda grossed out to see that it had nacho cheese on it. And on several occasions it has taken over a half-hour to get my food, even in the drive-thru (that is very unfortunately designed so that once you're in line, you can't really get out). I'm a very patient person who doesn't mind waiting, but a half hour is a long time to wait for three tacos. Unfortunately, that has also been the experience of many of my friends and family members as well. The staff, while being always very nice, accommodating and apologetic, often seems very stressed out. I'm not sure what the issue is but it seems like some sort of change should happen. My last complaint is that the hours are a little disappointing; they close the drive-thru at midnight. That shouldn't seem like a problem--I mean, who the heck wants tacos at 2 am? Well, me. And probably some other people. I'm just a weirdo who keeps a strange nightshift schedule who's spoiled on big city hours. It's not a sustainable complaint in a small town and I don't honestly hold it against them.
To top it off, one time I went here around lunch time and they were closed apparently because they were "out of food." Wot?
Having said all of that, I'd like to reiterate that the staff is always very friendly and they appear to be very hard-working. The restaurant, which was renovated last year, is always very clean in appearance. They keep the floors and tables clean even during the busy times. And on the occasion that my food is correct, it's delicious and well-made.
There's definitely room for improvement, but the attitudes of the workers (when they're not super stressed out) is on point. I have hope that they'll continue to...
Read moreI absolutely understand that technology sucks and that sometimes the place you choose to order lunch from is completely packed. What I don't understand is the poor quality of customer service we received during a recent visit to your store. One employee was approached several times about our order that was confirmed as being done at 12:15 P.M. We stood there waiting for 15 more minutes until the manager came up. The manager of all people was very argumentative after not being able to locate our order that was placed online. I showed him the confirmation texts and screen where it said our order was placed and ready. We had two orders, one which was soggy and not actually edible, and the other which we WATCHED them make after we got the confirmation saying that it was ready. The fact that Josh, the manager, had the audacity to ask what was wrong with upset customers once he brought the food we watched him make was beyond me. When it was explained to him that we were now 30 minutes late for our time to be back at work, he oh so NOT politely responded with well I don't know what to tell you the food was ready. Not an, I am sorry about your experience or any other sympathetic gesture like that. In a lobby FULL of people Josh was rude and condescending. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, by a manager of all people. The one who is supposed to lead his employees by his example. It was actually bad enough that a very nice gentleman, whom I didn't catch his name, stopped what he was doing came out from behind the counter and apologized to both my coworker and I on his managers behalf. You know its crappy service when your employees feel the need to apologize for something they didn't even do. To that gentleman I thank you. Great customer service is so hard to come by, you made our visit and encounter with a HORRIBLE manager a little better. To Josh, and the rest of the management team, shame on you. We are paying customers and it is not ok for you to argue or be rude and condescending. I for one will not be coming back to a store where the manager thinks it is ok to behave in...
Read moreVery slow service. Will nag you for good reviews, and attempt to memorize your name between visits, fail, and blurt it out at you wrong some days, pretending you're best pals. Just the other day I gave it a shot again for breakfast, 1 car on drive, no customers inside, I clearly heard that I set off the doorbell on my way in. No one greeted me, cooks in kitchen were looking at me like deer in headlights, and ducking out of view, they had one lady doing drive thru I could hear around a corner. I stood there for 3 minutes or so... another guy sees me and ducks away around a corner. No one spoke to me.... so I left. This place also routinely handed out COLD Nacho Fries (when it still had them... not smart getting rid of those...), it once took 30 minutes in drive thru to get my 3 dollar menu items completed... (one of them was a single order of Nacho Fries ), then I still was waiting at the window, with a line of cars behind me to the street. On that day the district manager or someone was working, he complained about being down 9 workers to me at the window while explaining their fryers were malfunctioning... then he offered me a job!? :/ Meanwhile cars behind me are yelling. They then screwed my order up, twice. Once I used up my gift card I started going elsewhere... but I kept coming back for those cold, 2 hour old, Nacho Fries... and 1/4 filled container of cheese! ;) Until this morning... Canon City needs a Taco John's to move in and run this dump out. Stay away unless you like cold fried stuff, and long waits at the...
