The year was 1970, I was a 16 year old kid from Cheyenne, WY. We came down with the Central high school marching band for a competition parade. I remember it was spring and it was warm with flowers blooming while back home in Cheyene we still had snow on the ground. I was amazed. I also remember it was an extremely long parade and it was hot in our heavy uniforms. I was a drummer and while that was cool, drummers get no rest. We play 100% of the time. Like kids do, we took everything for granted and I know I probably didn't even say thank you. But now some 50+ years later, anytime I get really thirsty, I remember that day and those wonderful volunteers. So now, if there are any of you left who might remember those years, my heartfelt thanks to all of you. I've never had a better tasting cup of ice water since. Thank you for giving a kid some good memories. You made Canyon City a wonderful...

It really is a nice...
