Wow, Big Boy has really gone downhill. As we were seated near the front, we heard the waitress snap at the hostess, asking her why she wasn't rotating guests when she seats them. The hostess looked confused, so the waitress said the other waitresses will be upset that they're not getting enough business, but since she only had two other tables herself, she could handle a third one. We later found out it was the hostess' first day on the job. It was pretty unprofessional for the waitress to chew her out in front of us. It also turned out to not be true.. the part about the waitress being able to handle three tables. We waited an inordinate amount of time to order beverages... waited again to place our order... and it took a long time to get our order. The waitress stalled so long getting the cup of broccoli soup we ordered, that they ran out of soup, which is the whole reason we came to Big Boy in the first place. I watched other waitresses fill up bowls of soup while our waitress was noticeably missing for a long time... then she delivered my husband's cole slaw so I started to ask about the soup and she said, "I'll get it!" Then a full minute later, she went over to the salad bar to get the soup - and it was all gone. The food? Overcooked, WELL DONE burgers were very dry and tasteless. I had asked for onion rings but she delivered fries. When I pointed it out, the waitress got flustered, brought back RAW ONIONS with very lightly fried breading that flaked off. They were inedible! She didn't apologize, even though we heard her yelling in the kitchen that she'd made a mistake and didn't order the onion rings for us. Then we tried to point out that my daughter's toast was burnt (she ordered breakfast for dinner) - but the woman barked at my teenage daughter that she thought it looked fine - intimidating her - so she just said it was fine and lived with the burnt toast. The milkshakes were the only good part of our meal. As we were checking out, the hostess asked us how our meal was... so we told her. That's when she told us that it was her first day on the job, and she didn't know what to do about our bad experience. We know what do... never go...
Read moreWe ordered two big boy combinations and a side salad and a coke. I requested a small side of macaroni salad, Amber said we don’t have that. I said it’s on the salad bar would you please ask your manager if I could pay for a side? She went along and continued working on two other tables ( she had three) there were FOUR tables in the whole establishment. I walked up to the other waitress and said I ordered a small salad, do you think she forgot it? The waitress said oh no she’s working on it ( in reality she was making milk shakes) The burgers arrived. No salad. So i said, well forget the salad since our food has arrived) She NEVER came back to the table to see how the food was, if we needed anything, no refills on the soda. She brought the bill I requested two empty cups to take my water home. She finally asked if I wanted a refill on the soda… WHEN I was leaving. When we got to the register ( she came to check us out) I then said, “ so your manager refused to sell the macaroni salad?” She rolled her eyes and said, “ look I was sat three tables at one time, I was making shakes and just forgot “. My husband tipped her 10%. I told her you know I wouldn’t have tipped you at all. Without waiting a second she said whatever you want. Food was well prepared. Service was actually Nonexistent Sad that one waitress can make customers feel unwelcome, ignored and unappreciated. I would recommend a customer should go anywhere else in Cadillac, MI. Hopefully at another restaurant you would be able to get your entire order ~ not just what the waitress had time to serve you! Chk 42889 table 21/1 14 Oct ‘23 3:24 pm Check closed 14...
