We are BEYOND ECSTATIC with our wedding cake and all other pastries and desserts provided by Calandra’s Bakery for our wedding! No other bakery bakes your cake at 3:00AM the day of your wedding (and our wedding was an 11:00AM wedding)and it shows! Super fresh moist and SUPER DELICIOUS! Every guests commented about the spectacular presentation…simple yet elegant carrying our live orchid theme with LIFELIKE piped orchid petals cascading down each layer! What a joy to have such an unforgettable and memorable experience of knowing our family and friends will remember our wedding cake as much as we will! We had the choice of several bakeries but must end by telling this story…we had checked out a couple of bakeries but after a final wedding gown fitting we decided to visit Calandras. Unannounced we asked to see the person who could help us with our wedding cake. Calandra’s is an incredible “complex” and was extremely busy place but we were directed to Aisha Maliki. Aisha dropped everything presented us with an exquisite tray of every wedding cake option in bite size proportions all fresh and delicious. She gave us coffee and tea and gave us time to talk amongst ourselves in a relaxed atmosphere until our decision was unanimous! She then proceeded to take us through the endless design options available and helped us tweak every little detail until alas our vision for the PERFECT wedding cake had come to life! Mind you we did this unannounced but Aisha couldn’t have been more cordial personable professional and most of all friendly! We left SO elated to leave having one of the most important wedding checkboxes checked and feeling we just had welcomed a new family member into the fold! NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN! My wife and I came here with our 1 y/o to plan a cake for her 1st Birthday. I go to the Calandras in Newark and they recommended us to the flagship location. We had a decent idea of what we wanted and were very excited to see the possibilities. When we go to the bakery thou, the receptionist working the counter seeemed annoyed at our request and almost immediately quoted us $500 (we hadn’t discussed type of cake, filling, frosting etc. only that we were looking to serve 30-50) which immediately turned us off bc she didn’t have details and it really felt like she just thru that # out of thin air. We took a beat, went to the deli to talk and get breakfast. There were a few families behind us doing the same. We ordered an egg sandwich, omlette, coffee and sat down. After 45mins every family behind us had gotten their food and were leaving, we still hadn’t gotten coffee. The other families had pancakes, omlettes, French toast, Italian sandwiches but we couldn’t get anything and when they finally bought out the sandwich it was cold and the wrong order. Hungry and with an increasingly fussy toddler we left but not before telling the deli counter to cancel our food, which the cashier did and didn’t even look at me. On the way out I grabbed a manager to tell him of our experience and that I was never coming back here. They tried to throw us free pastries and say they’d do a PM cake for 1/2 off, but how was I going to trust them to do a cake but they couldn’t even...

I’ve been a customer for years, love this place, their cakes are great, my sister had her wedding cake made here, every birthday cake we get from here, all the girls are super nice and helpful We decided to try their pizza today, I stood at the counter for probably 10 minutes while the pizza guy was walking back and forth completely ignoring me, handling money and cards with bare hands and going back to making pizza without washing his hands, I didn’t say anything and waited patiently There was someone else who came to order after me but the pizza guy took his order first and kept Ignoring me until this nice lady who I guess was a manager asked me if I was being helped and told the pizza guy to take my order I came back in 10 minutes, he was just making my order, which is fine But then just a few minutes later he called me and handed me something in a shape of a calzone which consisted of raw dough and mozzarella cheese that didn’t even melt, no ricotta cheese inside, instead he added pizza sauce right inside for some reason, but if that’s how they make it it’s fine, but no ricotta The pizza guy disappeared right after giving me the food and I waited for 15 minutes to ask him to put it back in the oven and cook it a little more but I couldn’t wait any longer and had to leave We left the “calzone” almost untouched on the table hoping someone would see it but...
