China House of Twain Harte — Restaurant in California

For anyone who loved China House as it used to be, the recipes have changed. It's not the China House anymore, we are locals and we've loved and relied on that restaurant since 1988. The food is ok, quality is good, service is great, the place is clean and tidy. But we don't like the food anymore, even the chow mein is different noodles. We can't find our favorite dishes anymore. Sad because those of us who live Twain Harte and above have really appreciated having good Chinese food without driving down the hill to Sonora. There's not a lot available up the hill. Those who aren't familiar with the China House may like it just fine but they really should change the name. It's not China...

I ordered take out here. We thought we were ordering dinner take out since it was dinner time. When I ordered, I mentioned what dishes I wanted. They did not specify if this was alacarte or dinner. They commented $48 dinner for 3 dishes and a side so it sounded correct. When I received my order and opened it at home there was no rice. I really want to like this place because it's close but it's just okay and over priced. This evening I went in to get some take out to share with my mom. The food was ready in minutes which made me nervous and a little annoyed because it obviously wasnt fresh and I'm not paying for fast food.
