Sportsman Coffee Shop — Restaurant in California

Stopped in for a quick bite of lunch. Our first visit to the Sportsman and definitely won't be our last. The sandwiches were huge and packed with plenty of meat. One is big enough for two people to split especially with the large serving of fresh and hot French fries. I had the rueben and hubby had the pastrami. Our waitress was attentive and kept hubby's iced tea well filled. The atmosphere was not fancy but nice and cozy and decorated cute for Halloween. The menu, although covering only breakfast and lunch was fairly extensive with lots of choices. The prices were reasonable especially considering the quantity! Our waitress had an infectious laugh and you could tell she and the rest of the staff enjoyed their jobs. We saw signs advertising homemade sausage for sale which were plan to try on one of our next trips to Twain Harte....

The recent remodel looks great, and the food and service are still wonderful as well. Try George's Homemade Sausage on your next visit, you won't be disappointed!

Breakfast today was delish, but the wait was a tad long, and they weren't even packed, so idk what that was about... Sporty is also a small place, not great for large groups but perfect for couples and small families. There is also a diner counter if you plan to go solo.

The place was clean and the portions were right for the price, the kind of portions you have a hard time taking the last bite but not stuffed enough you have to try to stay awake after. Overall...

This is great place to eat in Twain Harte. It has a small town cafe feel where the staff treat you like family. The cafe offers a wide variety of dishes made to order, with great attention to detail. We are big fans of their breakfasts especially, but the lunches are equally as good. Omelets are most excellent and just the right portion size. Be sure to try their various sausages. You won’t regret it. Tim does a great job, too, with homemade hearty soups. They are delish! These are people who not only love to cook, but really love offering a restaurant where quality and service are their number...
