El Garrobero Restaurant — Restaurant in California

Sadly the place is not the same like 2 years ago, food still good, but service every time getting worst, today 1/28/22 I call around 4 pm asking if gonna still open until 7p.m as google schedule post, and (no friendly) who ever pick the phone told me closing kitchen at 6pm so I have to be there at least 5:50p.m to order, but when arrived at 5:27 she told me that they still open but no taking more orders even if the ladies at back(kitchen) still making pupusas... I didn't say more cuz I feel embarrassed with my friend cuz I talk to much about the good place for pupusas, and they known I confirm the time and they denied sevice, we went next door were doing good business on a day that is good for business, look like el garronero doesn't want to meme business. but Oh pupusas really taste like at El Salvadorste, other places at area are relly good flavor, but this place take me back to motherland, also maracuya( passion fruit) and "Horchata de morro"( salvadorean no rice horchata) are delicus. Definitely...

Came on a Sunday morning, all tables where full and there was only one server available, but she was as fast as she could be. We tried the sopa de pollo, sopa de camaron con crema, platanos fritos and pollo con crema. The sopas give homemade vibes, thr platanos were not too greasy which I really appreciate, the frijol was very flavorful. The pollo con crema was not our favorite only because they usee chicken breast but the spices were on point. We also tried their arrayan juice, magnificent! The food took about 30 minutes to get to us from the time we ordered which is pretty fast for a Salvi restaurant if ykyk. The only downside is that once the food is served to you, you will not see the server again because of how busy she is. But you only need to stand and go ask for whatever you need, the girl is really nice. I highly recommend...

Every time I come here, there’s usually only one or two other people here but the wait for food is absolutely insane. I could phone in an order ahead of time with plenty of overtime and the food would still not be ready. You can come into the restaurant but expect to wait an hour+ between them taking the order and you actually getting your food. Yeah you can get a table fairly quickly but that’s the only thing you’re going to get quick besides some attitude from the people...
