I really wanted to like this place, I love burgers, probably my favorite food. This place came highly recommended from a friend of mine who goes annually to the burger battles. I wish there was a way to rate the service separately from the food. The service (once we were seated 20 minutes later on a Tuesday night), was excellent. The food, not so much. There were 9 of us eating on this Tuesday for a birthday celebration. While standing in the restaurant waiting to be seated there is a TV monitor going through various items on their menu. I was intrigued by the monster burger so I ordered it. Everyone else ordered different types of burgers too so we had a wide variety of their menu at our table. All but 1 of us ordered their burger medium and the 1 ordered his burger well done. As our food trickled to us over about a 10 minute period, we all received extremely well done burgers. So much so that there wasn't any juice left in the meat! Mine was dry as a bone. Unfortunately for me, I was unable to eat my $30 burger. I was unaware that it was caked with Jalapenos and then infused with a habanero liquid sauce throughout the entire burger. The burger isn't on the menu and I only found out when I asked the waitress why my burger was so hot. My mouth was on fire after 1 bite. If you like hot you'll love this burger! The fries that came with the monster burger were very good though! This is not a place to go with more than 4 people because they are not set up for groups. There is no where to seat them. Also, the location sucks. There was literally no one in the mall yet finding parking in the parking lot on a Tuesday night...
Read moreQuite the experience! The Flaming Grill was suggested to me by a friend for the wide selection of exotic burgers. My friend's and I started with the carne asada fries, which were FANTASTIC ( I was amazed at how crispy the fries were, even smothered under cheese, meat, and sour cream). For the main course we had a buffalo meat, bacon and blue burger (my favorite: the meat was succulent, the bacon - crispy, and the blue cheese - stanky), an elk meat jalapeno burger (elk meat was my friends' favorite, but was overshadowed by the fresh unseeded jalapenos I love spicy food and would suggest this only to real spice-lovers), and a camel meat sourdough melt (the camel was an oily meat, perfect with the grilled sourdough, mushrooms, and onions, but is a special not always served). With the food descriptions complete, I must make mention of two other facets of this hidden gem: first, the beer selection was impressive for such a small venue and, although some of my first choices were tapped, I was highly satisfied with the black IPA and the saison. Lastly, the service was very friendly and helpful, but definitely on the slow side. When you find yourself wishing for an intercom to communicate with your absentee waiter, that's a little too slow for my taste (hence the 4-star review). Overall, I highly enjoyed my first time at the Flaming Grill and will definitely return. The food is...
Read moreCan't rave enough. LOVE this place when it was on El Camino and now it's back! Closer to my work and I'm in love all over again. I went last week and I'm going back today.
4 of us came for lunch once we heard the soft opening was going down. The owners and waitstaff are top notch with smiles for everyone and ready to serve.
Chicken Fajitas * Two of us ordered the Fajitas. HUGE serving of grilled chicken with onions and poblano peppers, covered in cheese, spicy black beans, brown rice, pickled jalepeno, fresh sliced jalapeno, pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole and tortillas. WOW, huge portions and everything was seasoned perfect.
Fries * Two of us ordered the Bacon and Blue. One with Asada fries and one with regular fries. I LOVE the Asada fries. Bed of garlic fries with cheddar cheese, grilled sirloin, pico de gallo, and sour cream topped with fresh jalapeños. Perfect. My friend loved her fries too. * for both fries!
Bacon Blue Burger * HUGE Juicy burger cooked to medium on a grilled bun with house sauce, served on a Brioche bun with fresh blue cheese, bacon, onions, tomato & lettuce. Now THAT's a tasty burger! I have to admit I couldn't eat all the burger, but it was sure just as yummy...
