My family and I have been patronizing Kobe Susi for over four years and enjoyed every meal we have ordered.
The menu is a wonderful combination of Japanese, Korean and standard American with a few fusion options mixed in. The appetizer section is filled with fresh items with a number of very healthy options. The rolls are the type traditionally found in a California style Japanese establishment, and are well executed and presented beautifully. The sushi is always so fresh you can almost taste the ocean in each and every bite.
The waitstaff is always friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They even appear to enjoy their jobs and convey that to the customers! The kitchen is willing to make alterations to accommodate diners. For example, one member of our family does not like avocado but loves tobiko. That substitution is made cheerfully and unhesitatingly, and without the occasional eye roll or are "you kidding" look the family member gets when making a similar request at other sushi restaurants.
The atmosphere is very casual. Situated in the old Sam's Town center off Highway 50, the restaurant has maintained the painted concrete floors, large windows and relaxed air from the "old days."
Prices are more than reasonable for the quality and quantity of food served and less than some of the better known Japanese style...
Read moreThis was first time in this restaurant even though we have lived in the area for a long time. Our experience started out great with prompt drink service and quick appetizer delivery for the kiddos. After 30 minutes they brought out a complimentary appetizer for the delay even though there were only 4 other tables being utilized in the whole restaurant. Still, I appreciate this gesture and recconization of the delay. A few minutes later the kids meals arrived. 30 more minutes elapsed without my wife and I receiving our rolls. The waiter came by and was shocked that we hadn't received our dinner and asked us what we ordered. He assured us they would get right on "it." I was still keeping my hope up at this point. After another 15 minutes I asked for our check and informed our waiter that we would be leaving. He said "well, it's not my fault" and we left after paying for our drinks and appetizers ($40+). Very disappointed and will...
Read moreExtremely poor service. This was our first time eating here and it was horrible. I rarely write reviews, but I had to for this place! It took them over 15 minutes just to have a server come to our table so we could order drinks and appetizer. After 40 minutes after we had already received our drinks and appetizer but, we still had not received our food. Server kept saying it was almost out and the food never came. Seriously, how long does it take to get two udon noodle soup meals and a kids chicken teriyaki?? Needless to say we left without our entrees. I can't even remember the last time I had to walk out of a restaurant. Seriously sucked was looking forward to the food. Even the people next to us sat the same time we were there and had left after eating their meal and we were still left with...
