The food quality has deteriorated to the point where they are just feeding customers anything they can sell and make a buck. About three years ago I went there a couple of times, it wasn't bad. Not the best but it was fine. Then I went back one time almost a year ago, I didn't care for the food I got. The fried rice was dried, hard, with really no flavor. I got beef broccoli. The broccoli was simply raw, no flavor, hard. The beef was non-existent and whatever I found was hard and chewy. I have lived in NYC for 35 years and been to real downtown China Town basement restaurants many times and know the best chinese food you can buy in America. I know you can't get that in Bakersfield. I wasn't expecting that but even with my low expectations it was bad.
Yesterday was the last straw for me. I was in a rush and my girlfriend wanted their orange chicken. At first I wasn't going to get my dinner from them but I thought I'm already here just get something. I got my girlfriend orange chicken and teriyaki chicken with fried rice. I got myself fried rice, spicy BBQ chicken and teriyaki chicken. It was a bad experience. They have gotten greedy as they have simply stopped removing chicken skin. It weighs a lot and is a good filler. After the first couple of bites where we got chiken skin in our mouths, we started separating skin from all the rest of the chicken, both the teriyaki and BBQ chicken. There was about one cup of skin and gummy or soft bone mixed in our food. It was disgusting. I can understand the flavor being different but to think that customers are stupid or don't know the difference between decent food and lousy food is really shameful. By the time we picked the fill parts out, the rest of the food was hard to chew on. The rice was dried and hard. I kept telling myself, just eat it, it is ok, as we had nothing else in the house but it wasn't ok. I we finally dumped all the food in the garbage....
Read moreWe ordered our usual. We often order delivery from this restaurant. Today, Uber Eats could not find us for an hour. The delivery person spoke not one word of English. When they finally did arrive, they gave us the wrong order. I called Panda Wok and eventually spoke with Kevin who said he was the owner. I asked them to redo the order and I'd pick it up myself. Kevin refused, taking no responsibility, and blaming Uber Eats. I argued how, as the owner, he is ultimately responsible for delivery to customer satisfaction. All Kevin did was argue how he's not responsible. I don't know why these people can't part with $34 to make the order right. Then, when I opened the orange chicken we did not order, there were hairs in the food! I will never...
Read moreOrdered through Door Dash, and didn't even recieve all of our order to start. The most concerning issue though is that we ordered orange chicken and it was still pink and was not fully cooked. Ordered egg flower soup and wonton soup. The egg flower soup was bland and tasted off. The wonton soup was just hot water with large chucks of meat and veggies which was disappointing. We also requested no wontons in the soup, but still received them. And they weren't cooked properly anyways. Ordered Black pepper beef, and it tasted like jerky, and I couldn't bite through it. The only thing that was ok was the rice. I'm never ordering from here again and would not recommend...
