A Mixed Experience at Macaroni Grill: Admirable Service with an Unfortunate Incident
During our recent visit to Macaroni Grill, my family and I had an overall positive dining experience, thanks to the attentive service provided by our server. However, while the server performed his duties well, there was a regrettable incident where he touched my wife in a joking manner, which left us feeling somewhat disrespected. Despite this unfortunate occurrence, it is important to provide an honest and balanced review of our experience, highlighting both the server's competence and the need for respectful interactions.
Our server at Macaroni Grill demonstrated commendable skills in attending to our dining needs. He was prompt in greeting us, seating us comfortably, and providing menus. He exuded a friendly and approachable demeanor, making us feel welcomed and valued as patrons. Throughout the meal, he displayed good knowledge of the menu, offering helpful recommendations and accommodating any special requests we had.
The server exhibited efficiency in taking our orders and ensured that our beverages were promptly refilled. He was attentive to our table, checking on us periodically to ensure our satisfaction. His timing with serving our meals was appropriate, allowing us to enjoy each course without feeling rushed. These aspects of his service were commendable and contributed positively to our dining experience.
Regrettably, during the course of the meal, there was an incident where the server touched my wife in a joking manner that left us feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. It is important to note that any form of physical contact without consent is unacceptable and goes against the principles of professionalism and respect in the service industry. While the server's intention may have been lighthearted, it is crucial for service staff to exercise restraint and be mindful of personal boundaries to ensure the comfort and well-being of all customers.
We must emphasize that such an incident can overshadow an otherwise positive dining experience. It is essential for establishments to provide proper training and guidelines to their staff, ensuring they understand and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and respect when interacting with customers.
Our experience at Macaroni Grill was a mix of positive service and an unfortunate incident that marred our overall impression. The server demonstrated competence in carrying out his duties, displaying good knowledge of the menu and providing attentive service. However, the incident involving an inappropriate touching incident was highly regrettable and left us feeling disrespected.
We urge Macaroni Grill and similar establishments to emphasize the importance of proper training and conduct, ensuring that all staff members adhere to respectful interactions with customers. While we acknowledge the server's positive attributes, it is imperative to address incidents like these to maintain a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for...
Read moreI visited the Elk Grove establishment on Sunday evening for pick up of 2 Penne Rustica’s. The price has gone up (significantly) like everything else, and I don’t mind paying but the quality of the food has taken a dive. I was originally perplexed because in the past, I would receive a complimentary loaf of bread and pay for an additional loaf. Last night, I was charged for the first loaf. The cashier Ariana was extremely courteous and went to obtain her manager because she said she’d only been on takeout for a short time. While she was finding the manager, Diamond (it took him about 10 minutes to come talk to me; Ariana had to look for him AGAIN and said he was finishing up something on the computer and would be right out. I actually decided to leave the restaurant because my food was getting cold but returned after I saw him through the door), I asked another server about the complimentary bread policy and he confirmed what I originally thought. However when Diamond (he also was courteous) came to talk to me, he stated that there is a charge for each loaf of bread. I accepted the explanation even though I’d just been told something different 10 minutes earlier. But to add insult, after paying nearly $50 bucks, the Penne Rusticas were hardly edible because the pasta was hard as a BRICK! Of course, I couldn’t return them because I’d just complained about not receiving the complimentary bread (by the way, it wasn’t the minimum cost for the bread because I know there’s inflation, it was the principle for me). Again, I don’t mind paying the costs for good food either, but paying for sub par food is another thing! I was extremely...
Read moreI went around the time of just after 5:00 p.m. there wasn't a lot of people in there so service was relatively quick. Waited for about 2 minutes before I was seated and then I was given a menu. I ordered the Caesar salad with roasted chicken and the lobster bisque.
Food: Bread was good, can't complain about that. The Caesar salad with roasted chicken. The roasted chicken was added so it was extra. Tell me why if it's oven roasted why are there grill marks on it? Whatever seasoning there was on it was burnt during the grilling process. That stunk up my salad then when I bit into it I tasted the charred parts leaving a disappointing taste in my mouth. So I barely ate the chicken. The chicken as well was lightly pink in the middle with the outside being white (which is cooked). It was probably grilled at high heat.
The lobster bisque was pretty good but you can definitely tell it's not made on the spot. How? There aren't chunks of lobster in the lobster bisque there is only slivers of lobster, this is just enough to remind you that you are eating lobster bisque. I was offered seconds but I decided not to.
Service: it was quick and efficient. I came before the dinner rush so everything was prompt.
Experience: they had Christmas music playing which wasn't too loud and I was seated in a decent spot.
Would I go again? Probably not.
My advice: order Italian food at an Italian restaurant such as pasta don't order other things like steak or surf and turf or anything like that. Stick with what they're selling and don't try to be adventurous here as you're bound to be...
