Sizzling Fresh Mongolian BBQ — Restaurant in California

Horrible!!! I've gone here so many times and loved it. But the last 6 months things have changed. First, it's disgusting in there. They don't clean up anymore. Everytime I've gone the counter has what looks like the last 8 hours of food that people spilt. They also don't restock produce anymore. The most used items are always empty. When I ask if they can add more I get a look from staff that says "don't ask", an eye roll, and walk away. Unless I ask again it doesn't happen. The AC is never on. Tonight at 7:30 it was hotter in the restaurant than outside. When we asked if we could sit under a fan I was ignored. They placed us far from the fans. I went up and said we were moving. They now give you your cup that you carry with you while getting raw meat. And now they put soup, rice, and egg rolls out in a heater. Which of course is almost always empty. Tonight I couldn't tell the difference between the rice and soup because the rice was filled with water and clumps of rice. Yummy! So, after eating I asked for a box which they never have said no to as long as you don't back for seconds. I had a little more than 1/4 left and wanted to take it home. But no. After I explained I didn't go through twice, I didn't have much left, and I've never had an issue before I was just ignored. I hate reading reviews where people complain as much as I have in this one. But after several times going back hoping the last was a fluke I felt I wanted to share my experience so people avoid this place. The only thing I have always liked is the food does taste good. The cooks are very sweet and always are working hard. They have a variety of produce when stocked appropriately so there's really something for everyone. My mother and I came to eat here after finishing a job. The hostess was rude and the service was even worse. After they gave away my bowl to someone else and tried to pretend that nothing was wrong, I had to go and make a new bowl. Then when they give me my food the shrimp was cold and still frozen on the inside! The "cooks" couldn't have cared less if I had gotten sick from their mistake and continued making the food for the other patrons.

The hostess then started arguing with the cooks in her language and both the cooks glared at me and my mother. When my mother told the hostess my food was cold the hostess said, "oh, that happen sometime" and rolled her eyes and went back to business as usual, conpletely ignoring the fact that I had just consumed raw shrimp.

I don't often feel this way, but this time I feel like this was racially motivated. My mother is white and I'm mixed. The entire time this was happening they kept speaking their language to mask what was being said, periodically looking at both me and my mother. We walked out and left without finishing.

Shame on the owners for allowing their employees to treat paying guests like garbage. I will never be back, this visit has left a bad taste in my mouth and I have no desire to be mistreated a...

Ok everybody this is best healthiest place ever. Price has to go up and thats with everything, but the food is definately worth it. The Number #1 best place in Elk Grove. If your not getting your vegatables (which you should) then this is the place to go and eat. All you can eat while there (you can't take food home unless you order take out). But when you eat there its all you can eat, but you should smatch as much food as you can on your bowl, cause after you eat your 1st bowl, you probably be done, cause its alot of food and very very good. If you DON'T want noodles, then just do turkey, chicken, beef or pork and vegatables ONLY!!! This is the best place ever and gets packed at lunch time and its worth the prices. I like the crunchy won ton, I use that to scoop the protein on it and eat both..yummy! I love this place and I think Sky River should have this place cause its the best place ever and HEALTHIEST with alot of vegatables. You put your own sauces and create your own bowl...Great Job Mongolian for being Number #1 in Elk Grove...the talk...
