New York Pizzeria — Restaurant in Calimesa

I’ve been coming here for years and never had any issues…tonight I came in 25 minutes after placing my order, as I was told my pizza would ready in 25 minutes over the phone. I assume they are telling me the truth so I pay for my pizza and am given a number and told it will be out soon…5 minutes pass, 10 minutes pass, 15 minutes pass, almost 20 minutes pass and still no pizza ready so I ask the manager if it’s almost ready. He goes back to the kitchen and talks to the cooks and they all look at one another…After 2 to 3 more minutes he comes back to me and says that they somehow skipped over my order and never put the pizza in. I wasted almost an hour of my evening, 10 miles driving round trip, and had no dinner for my family and I to show for it…Instead of the owner telling me I can get a free pizza for their mistake on my next visit to compensate for all of this lost time and energy he denies my request and says maybe he can give me a little bit off of my next order. He refunds me what I paid for my pizza that they never made me and gives me $3 off my next order for another day. This was beyond frustrating. I left very annoyed as I’ve loved coming to this place for years…and also left without dinner for my family and I. I urge you all to consider very carefully before coming to this place. I have been to this restaurant twice and will explain my (2 out of 5 star) review. The first time I came here the food was fairly decent. Not necessarily exceptional, but fairly decent and I had no problems relating to that particular experience. As for today though, it is a much different story. We waited approximately 30 minutes (even though there was no one in the restaurant and one or two cars in the parking lot) for our pizza to be ready. When the time came to go in and check to see if it was ready, one of the employees went to check on it and came back to tell me that someone had burned it. She then proceeded to tell me it would be another 15 minutes to make another one. By this time we've now been waiting 45 minutes (+/- a few minutes). No one offered any form of compensation. I would've appreciated if a refund would've been offered, I would have told them not to remake it so I could've gone somewhere else. Though it may be a bit more of a distance away for some, I'd recommend Domenico's in Beaumont over this establishment any day. The prices are approximately the same and the quality is noticeably better (not including better customer service there as well). This review is for the customer service I received tonight. My husband ordered a small pizza and a salad. I get there to pick it up….the dinning room had ONE person sitting in it waiting for her order. I walk up to the counter and the girl is chopping lettuce for an order. Not once did she greet me or ask me if I can give her just a minute not even a smile nothing. Nothing from the guy behind her either who also saw me there. Nothing from the person to the left either. As I waited for some kind of communication to occur the girl finally walks up to the counter with an order and calls a name and asks if it will be cash or card and still doesn’t make an expression or even say, “I’ll be with you in just a moment”. So I left. My husband called and talked to the manager to cancel our order, we received a very brushed off apology stating they’re overwhelmed (with no one in the dinning room) and he (the manager) will have a talk with the employee.
