Rico's Pizza — Restaurant in Calumet Township

If you need a delivery, ask If their are any drivers first. Too many times I have ordered to be told afterward, NO DELIVERIES TONIGHT"...Just bluntly stated, just like that. AFTER I BEGIN MY ORDER. I was told "no deliveries tonight" then "CLICK"☎️ ! I DIDN'T KNOW WHETHER TO FEEL OFFENDED OR STUPID. BUT.... THEY'RE 1/4 MILE AWAY FROM WHERE I LIVE SO 😞. I HAVE TO SAY THAT IF I HAVE ORDERED 10 TIMES IN 5 YEARS FROM THERE. I HAVE OFFICIALLY HAD ONE PLEASANT EXPERIENCE. Don't get me wrong, the pizza usually is decent. The staff, once you get past that automatic voice recorded machine 🤖, at the beginning, some are amazingly kind🧑‍🍳, and some just don't want to be there🙅. Nor do they care if you know that🤨. It seems that the delivery driver, is overworked🛠️ and underpaid🪙 or perhaps the entire staff is. My big issue pertains to a delivery.Here Goes! Not long ago I ordered a small pizza with one topping. Sausage. Perhaps a 2-liter to go with it. I do have the receipt still just not in front of me. So one small sausage pizza and perhaps a 2-liter. Upon ordering at 5:45pm. I was told it would be 40 minutes for my delivery. NO PROBLEM 😁. 1 hour went by, we began to get concerned. Called just to check the status on the order. Informed that the pizza left 10 minutes ago, so aprx 6:45-7pm. I live 3 minutes away. Nothing. After another half hour we call back. After the machine sent us to idk where. I was told I'm being transferred to the front. After the girl picked up, I asked if I could have the drivers number so I can contact the driver. I mean as of now my small one-topping pizza has been enroute for 40 mins according to the front girl. I Was not given driver's number. I Was told "I'LL CALL HIM" then hung up on. We were baffled, is she calling us back, are we calling her back,. She made a statement and hung up. Waited another 10 minutes for a call back. Nah, apparently that was our job. Call back the awful machine,to be transferred to the wrong person again, who transferred me to the front again, who hung up on me this time. It seems my small one topping pizza was on her last nerve. I mean I order at 5:45pm. We are approaching 7:45pm fast. Nobody cared. Finally the phone rings. It's our driver, he has great news, he had a bunch of deliveries and he just got back to Rico's to pick up our small one topping pizza and bring it 3 minutes away. Considering we ordered at 5:45 p.m. they must have been overwhelmed for the 6:00pm Rush hour? That was not my problem though. If you look back at the beginning of this. The very first call we placed. The girl had told us our order left 10 minutes ago. Now you might as well say it's 8: 00pm. IF OUR ORDER LEFT AT 6:35 P.M.OUT FOR DELIVERY....ACCORDING TO THE GIRL ANSWERING THE FRONT PHONE. WHY IS THE DRIVER PICKING UP OUR SMALL ONE TOPPING PIZZA FROM RICO'S APRX 8PM? THE VERY SAME GIRL SAID 1 HOUR AFTER WE PLACED THE ORDER THAT IT WAS IN THE CAR ON ITS WAY FOR 10 MINUTES ALREADY. NOW THE DRIVER SAYS HE IS AT THE FACILITY PICKING UP OUR ORDER. ONE SMALL SAUSAGE PIZZA... "maybe a 2-liter also" just to be fair. I'm not sure what you're looking for in ordering from this place but if it's a small pizza with one topping, AND you've got about 2 hours and 20 minutes to sit on your hands and wait for your food to get cold or be taken back to the restaurant to be reheated. Whatever they decided they wanted to do, because at that point you have no options. If we cancel it we've just spent two and a half hours in vain, Also it was already charged on our credit card. The message that I received from the evening in question displays A larger concern for the big money orders, so the couple who just needed a small pizza had to eat "in our opinion, reheated Pizza" . Which is why the delivery person had to go back to the restaurant....To fix it. Because he did not have the order with him as we were told on our very 1st phone call for a order ofstatus. Where's the integrity in that? I'm not trying to be mean. I'm just trying to show a better way of treating PEOPLE. DO BETTER! WE...

I won't be back here anymore. White lady in front SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!!. It was disappointing that I couldn't even get my issue resolved. I ordered a cheese pizza and they gave me the worst plain tomato sauce , breading,seasonings and cheese there was in the kitchen. NO flavor at all!!!!!!! Paid $25 for a jumbo pizza and ate 4 bites and threw it to my pits🐕 🐶.She said I only can eat one bite. It was 3 ppl that got a slice ND I had to take nother bite to see is they really kidding me!!!! My dogs was happy for it.. Didn't want anyone with good taste eating that disgusting pie. Very upset with there NEW management. If white lady and Mexican guy only on shift just know it's not same pizza🍕 as when the black ppl hook us up when they on shift. Hope they get shut down and a black owner reopen this place with better customer service. It makes money fasure being right next to a liquor store and...

Mine you this was my first time coming here I went in there the other day for my lunch break and the lady with the glasses seen me standing there and still didn’t greet me or nothing 5mins passed still not a word she was only in the back so I was trying to be patient since I seen she was the only one there but once the 10min mark hit(which by this time my pregnant butt took a seat to still wait for her to come to acknowledge that I was even there) I got up and left and went to the restaurant a few doors down called Philly Steak and Lemonade where the service was a 10 and food was a hit. My craving was for pizza but that experience turned me completely off (and I am really big on people having a certain spirit while cooking my food 🤷🏾‍♀️)was on to the next and as long as she is in there I will never try them nor come back...
