Personally, I'm concerned about food safety. A few weeks ago I got an order of enchilladas with rice, beans, chips, salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. The food tasted great, but the next day I was violently sick. I chalked it up to a coincidence, but the same thing happened to me again. And it has to be Olas since this time it was the only food I had eaten that day. Also I've been self-isolating for 10 months now and I haven't been around more than 3 people at a time, and always in an outdoor area. So I know it's not covid-related, but definitely food poisoning. My back is now strained from throwing up. Normally I don't post bad restautant reviews. If I don't like the place, I just don't review (you never know if maybe the bad service was just someone having a really bad day, so I try to be mindful). I'm posting this one because I'm actually in a considerable amount of pain; and I'm having trouble sitting and standing. So if you're willing to give this place a chance, then go for it. But just be aware that whatever is going on in the kitchen might not be very sanitary and you may also get...
Read moreWe were visiting Camarillo from out of town and called 15 mins before closing to place an order. Not being familiar with the area and wanting some GOOD Mexican food we went with Olas based on other reviews and I’m so glad we did. Carlos was so nice on the phone and happy to take our big order so close to closing time. He gave us great recommendations. When my husband picked up the food he had his wife were so friendly! The carnitas was the best and the Carne asada nachos were amazing! My husband loves the shrimp tacos too. Huge portions, we couldn’t finish the Cali Nachos. I used to visit my aunt and uncle in Camarillo as a kid and it warmed my heart to see it still has a small town, friendly vibe. Excellent food after a long day at the Channel Islands. Everyone was happy and I’m so glad we decided to go with this...
Read moreFirst time there and horrible food. We got the Cali Nachos, our fries came out burnt or so they looked burnt! Nothing like the fries you see on the Yelp pictures, total dramatic change compared to ours... But that probably makes sense since the 2 parties behind us got served first (keeping in mind that we only order 1 plate while the 2 different parties behind us each ordered 2 plates for their parties) & again THEY were served before us. Hardly any meat, the only flavor we tasted or received was from the cheese and guacamole. Nice area & enjoyable enviroment but the most white washed Mexican place yet. Yet, the area does speak for itself. Never once complained & never needed to do a "yelp" review but this does call for one. Yesterdays...
