Oi, oi, oi! Thatās how we express gratitude/ elated joy back on the streets of Chicago š. Yeah, yeah, yeah, what I mean to say is⦠gosh! Ya gotta love this place! I had never lived by a Blank Street Coffee before, but hey, new places call for new habits call for new lattes⦠is that the saying š š¤£?!?! I came in here once with my niece and boy oh boy, if you like matcha, youāre in the right spotā Iāll tell you that much. They donāt just got a simple matcha latteā they have more! Their seasonal drink, the mango passionfruit matcha, is to die for. The niece asks me every day if we can go back! Ya know, I had to give her a lil good old life lesson. āLook-ie here, Donatella (super Italian name, I know, I know š) , we canāt be spending every day back at the Blank Street. I know you love it! Letās try to make our own!ā And ya know what we did that afternoon? We attempted to make the mango passionfruit matchaā DIY! Iāll spare ya the details⦠but letās just say that we ended the day with chunks of moldy mango in our projectile vomit⦠had to hire a professional cleaner!! (Thatās another story for another review š ) Yeah, okay, okay, youāre probably saying, āJoseph!! Get to the point!ā Well, the point is: nothing compares to Blank Street Coffee. So the matcha is worth the 6 er 7 dollars here and there. But the basics: drinks are good and consistent, service is good, place is clean⦠gotta love it!

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI frequent this location as I work in Harvard Square, and I was quite disappointed this morning. I placed an order online at 7 am this morning, as the store opens at 6:30 a.m. When I arrived to the location, the doors where locked and the lights were off. So I went on to my morning meetings and returned at 10 a.m. and there was a huge crowd of people waiting for their drinks. As I made it inside and found that my order was nowhere to be found. I tried to ask an employee for help. All 3 employees working out front just ignored everybody. When I tried to get the attention of one of the employees, she said "I need more time, we're backed up". And continued to ignore me. As I had another meeting to get to, I had to leave without a drink. So I paid for my drink at 7 a.m. and it is now, 10:50 a.m. and I wasted over 20 minutes walking to and from the shop twice. And left empty handed twice..
I know things happen and they seemed to be backed up. I completely understand this and have worked in the customer service/serving industry for over 7 years. However, I think ignoring your paying customers that are confused with what's happening. That may have made multiple trips for a single cup of coffee.. is very unprofessional and rude. I am quite disappointed, and will have to go back a third time in hopes to get my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBSC is VC owned, so another corporate coffe shop for Harvard square! huzzah. I tried 3 drinks here to come up with my opinion on this shop, but I think TLDR; itās worth a shot in case you like their blend and since itās not pricey, but not super special. I think I prefer Bluestone lane :
Hot Latte: First drink I had, which I was extremely pleasantly surprised by. Good price but also insanely smooth, really nice texture. Liked it a lot, 5*
Brown Sugar Cold Brew Latte (with oat milk): Thought this might be a good replacement for Starbucks, but was mistaken. Cold brew is also nearly overwhelmingly fruity, definitely not to my taste. Had some nice cinnamon flavors and the cold brew is strong, but disappointed by this. 3, maybe 3.5
Hot Strawberries and Cream Latte: I was morbidly curious, since this is one of their signature drinks, and is very affordable. Very weird tastingā tastes like coffee and a strawberry laffy taffy, which is not necessarily a bad combination? but is very weird. It took me about 75% of this drink to decide that I didnāt really like it, but that I was just entertained by how odd the taste is. 3*...
