Decent spot for affordable, Instagram-worthy sushi.
Stumbled upon this place on IG and decided to give it a try. Over the past few years, this location has seen several restaurant changes, and the interior remained mostly the same.
Their menu featured all the trendy sushi items that have been circulating on social media, like sushi donuts and tacos. While visually appealing, the sushi donuts and mini bowls were essentially their standard rolls repackaged in different forms—same sauces, similar ingredient combos. The portions felt a bit small considering they’re equivalent to about 3-4 rolls combined. Unless you’re specifically going for photos, I’d recommend sticking to their regular rolls for better value.
Given the price point, it’s hard to expect quality or creativity, and overall, the execution was reasonably good. My main complaint was with their sauces—they seemed to rely heavily on just two: unagi sauce and spicy mayo. As a result, everything ended up tasting quite similar. This was particularly disappointing with the sea urchin taco, which came with a relatively premium price tag. The curry rice plate had tender and fatty chicken, but it was underwhelming in terms of flavor.
I understand that there aren’t many casual sushi options in the Inman Square area, so this spot might be a convenient choice for students nearby. Not sure I’d rush back, but it’s worth checking out if you’re in the mood for...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I originally stopped in for a quick snack, and we ended up staying for dinner because everything was that good. I got the brown sugar boba milk tea, and she got an ice cream with cute little decorations—it looked great and tasted even better. I was impressed that the boba came in a reusable can with the restaurant’s logo on it. I actually took it home, washed it out, and put it on my shelf because it looked so nice.
Both times we came in, the person at the front was super kind and welcoming. It was two different people, but both were genuinely friendly and made us feel comfortable right away. It added a really nice touch to the whole experience.
After walking around Cambridge a bit, we realized we didn’t feel like eating anywhere else—we came right back and ordered shrimp tempura sushi and more boba. The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made. Everything we had tasted great.
Prices are on the higher side, but that’s expected in Cambridge. The portions could be a bit bigger, but the quality definitely makes up for it. No complaints at all—great staff, great food, and a cozy vibe. We’re definitely...
Read moreMy wife, baby and I came here for an early dinner at 5:45pm. Made a reservation but there was no one there when we arrived. Street parking plenty at the time.
We ordered: Avocado and crab salad - very good Unagi donut - decent. Almost like a making but in a donut form Cuttlefish temari - very little cuttlefish to the amount of rice Salmon taco - our favorite item tonight. Crispy fried seaweed "shell" and you choose 2 toppings. Would definitely get that again. Few sushi/sashimi - big chunks of fish for sashimi and the sushi was pretty fresh Popcorn chicken - portion was big and it was tasty. We packed the leftovers home. We also got an ice cream cone for dessert. They put in the effort to make it into a bear. Cute.
Price for all that above was $69 before tips. Service was very good. Waiter was very friendly and attentive. Food came out fast. Men's bathroom was kind of odd... There was a bathroom inside the bathroom. Haha, it's all good though.
