If you're a fan of flavorful fried chicken and southern-inspired comfort food, Popeyes in Cambridge, MN, is the place to be. My recent dining experience at this fast-food gem left me satisfied and impressed.
Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by the inviting aroma of freshly fried chicken and a warm welcome from the staff. The ambiance is casual and laid-back, perfect for a quick bite with friends or family. The clean and well-maintained interior added to the overall positive impression.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the chicken. Popeyes is renowned for its crispy, seasoned-to-perfection fried chicken, and the Cambridge location certainly lives up to the hype. The skin had that delightful crunch, giving way to tender and juicy meat on the inside. The signature Cajun-inspired seasoning added a kick that was both flavorful and satisfying.
The menu at Popeyes offers a variety of options, from classic chicken pieces to sandwiches and wraps. I opted for the Classic Chicken Sandwich, and it did not disappoint. The bun was soft, the chicken was generously sized, and the combination of pickles and the mayo provided a burst of contrasting flavors that worked harmoniously.
The sides at Popeyes deserve a special mention. The Cajun fries were seasoned just right, and the mashed potatoes with gravy were creamy and rich. I've never had red beans and rice before, but theirs was really good, nice and smoky! The variety of dipping sauces available added an extra layer of customization to the meal. The sweet heat being my favorite!
Service at Popeyes in Cambridge was prompt and efficient. The staff was friendly and accommodating, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The ordering process was streamlined, and my food was served hot and fresh.
EDIT: Almost got into an altercation with an employee after they messed up my order. I ordered a Spicy Chicken Sandwich with extra mayo, but got that with truff sauce which I did not want. I came back to exchange it for what I wanted and when I asked for it the employee got real lippy with me saying they don't add mayo to spicy sandwiches. They said I should know what I'm ordering. WELL I THOUGHT I DID. Their chicken comes in regular and spicy so I figured their sandwiches did too. They must just add the spicy sauce to the classic to make it spicy. It's the only thing that makes sense. Easy mistake on my part wouldn't you say? I tried asking another employee for clarification, but he didn't understand me very well. So for you all I would recommend ordering through the app if you're going to make alterations to anything as the app understands what you want and more importantly, WON'T PISS YOU OFF.
While the dining area is relatively small, it is clean and well-maintained. The restaurant also offers convenient options for takeout, making it a great choice for those on the go.
In conclusion, Popeyes in Cambridge, MN, delivers on its promise of delicious, crave-worthy fried chicken. If you're in the mood for a satisfying and indulgent meal, Popeyes is a solid choice. While it may not be the fanciest dining spot, the focus on quality ingredients and bold flavors makes it a go-to destination for comfort food enthusiasts, but only if you don't make your order...
Read moreI went to Popeyes; the food was good, boiling 🔥, the service was excellent, there were amiable people, and the dine-in area was clean with no food residues. I see people commenting about the dining area. It happened to me when I visited, but I need to understand sometimes, during busy hours, it would be tough to clean the dining area and serve the customers. So I don't mind if the floor is nasty sometimes. I love the Louisiana chicken 🐔 I am going for the chicken. I love the wings, Chicken pieces, nuggets, and strawberry biscuits. Mango...
Read moreWe’ve been here twice. The first time they messed up the order. When the right one came it was very good. Today we went there and couldn’t find anyone to take our order. We waited in an empty lobby for about 5 minutes and yelled “is anyone here?” but nobody came. They were visible and about 12 feet away in the kitchen and drive through area, but scrolling on their phones was the priority today. So I snapped a picture of them not working and went to...
