We have stopped hoping for authentic Thai in Arlington and mostly when we want delicious Thai we go to Rod Dee in Porter Square. However, we took a chance and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food at Thana.
We ordered Pad Thai, Larb Salad, Shrimp Cake, Pineapple Fried Rice and Pad Kra Pow. All delicious and not to sweet. The Pineapple Fried rice had toasted cashews, a nice curry flavor and dried pork shreds.
You know that the food will be good when the bean sprouts are fresh. The Pad Thai is not too sweet. Also the Pad Kra Pow was also very tasty, we ordered minced chicken and you can ask for it to be not so hot. The Larb was spicy but delicious.
The owner likes to draw and there are lots of cartoons on the wall that he is drafting. Also their outside sign is pretty cute with illustrations of drinks and a cat. So kawaii as my 12 yo would say.
I am so happy for good Thai in my town! I am definitely going back to try the green curry and the roti. Also I am going to place a catering order for all the big meetings at my...
Read moreThana Thai is trying to do something different from your run of the mill thai takeout joint and largely succeeding. Rather than turning out wok after wok of overly sweet Pad Thai, Thana is upping their authenticity and trying to provide a more legit thai flavor profile. This can be seen in dishes like their curry puff (using a puff-pastry like double dough, labor intensive and rarely seen in these parts) and their Khao Soi (which comes with crispy noodles on the side and pickled vegetables as it should). You can also see this in the fact that they serve many of their curries with chicken drumsticks as opposed to the nondescript and bland sliced chicken breast of most Thai restaurants. As good as some of their dishes are though, they are still toeing the line between real thai food and americanized Thai on others. I'd love to see them really take the plunge, serve nothing but the real deal, and have faith that their customers tastes have become sophisticated enough to come back for more...

I requested my customer flavor(I don’t like sweet so I asked no sweet taste and they did an amazing job! Cook the way I like) They have different spicy levels which allows you to enjoy your meal the way you love! All food are super delicious and flavorful. Reasonable prices and well presented! The mural in the restaurant looks cool too. This restaurant is very clean and quiet. Very pleasant eating environment. When I’m writing this review now and looking at these pictures again, I’m literally...
