I was to meet a friend here for dinner. After a bit of difficulty finding this place, we went inside and ordered. The server was very friendly and made several good recommendations. I always ask, because if the employees have a favorite, it's sure to be good. I had the Chile Relleno plate, served with rice and beans. It was served quickly and arrived hot, as it was supposed to. Friend had one of the several burger selections and proclaimed her meal very good. The atmosphere is ordinary, but it was clean and when one digs into the food, this is forgotten. My meal was about $10. Restrooms are entered from outside the building, but they are clean and properly supplied. A word about parking. It's adequate, but when the restaurant closes at 7pm, the parking lot does also. It isn't gated, but I left my vehicle for an hour after seven. It was locked, but unattended. When we returned, my car was tagged saying that it would be removed at my expense, if it had not moved by the officer's second visit. I rescued it in time, and no harm was done, but be...

Also note that the main rating is for food. 5 stars for the service and atmosphere.
Chips and salsa: the chips were stale. Salsa tastes like seasoned canned tomato sauce. Not necessarily bad but not what we were looking for. We passed on these.
Had fries w ketchup: the best thing we had and also weren’t great. Tasted a lil freezer burnt.
We got two orders of tacos (chicken, iceberg lettuce, tomatoes). Wanted guac but they put milk in theirs. The chicken was dry and a weird grainy kind of consistency for us. We didn’t eat these either.
Also got an order of Southwest Veggie enchiladas with beans and rice. Everything came out cold. The green sauce over the enchiladas was cold and slopped over everything on the plate.
Overall this spot is a no for these Chicagoans. We’re heading home to cook. Great service, nice family vibe, low...
Read moreThe service and atmosphere are great...It's a family owned restaurant I'm told. As far as the food maybe the original homecooking stayed with the original cooks...? My chicken enchiladas were made from cubed chicken breast (like from a can... dry) with hardly any flavor. Maybe they're trying to be healthy, I don't know but I only ate half because of it being so bland. Our second time there I ordered chorizo and egg burritos to go. Again when I picked them up very friendly and fast. A little pricey at $16 bucks but I guess that's the going rate with inflation. Our burritos were small and seemed to be double or even triple wrapped with tortilla and very little filling. We're new to the area and we were hoping to find a go to place for good Mexican food but I guess we'll have to keep...
