Let me start by saying that we are from the Phoenix valley and our food was great, but we won't be back due to customer service given to another table, and that is why I have rated our visit one star. Patrons at a table near ours looked to be at a business lunch. The server - who loudly and proudly told the patrons - was not only the owner but also the Vice Mayor of the Town. Well, this owner and Vice Mayor gives HORRIBLE customer service! At least two of the patrons (possibly more as I could not hear everything in the loud restaurant) asked to modify their item that they ordered. Both were very rudely told that "there are absolutely no substitutions! It comes how it is and we won't change it!" The gentleman at the table was told he could 'pick the item' (I could not hear what item) off of his sandwich! What the hell???? I have NEVER been to a restaurant in which you could not alter or substitute your menu item. That is absolutely absurd! What if the guest has an allergy? Tough shit, pick it off?!?! But what did it for me was the 'matter of fact - I don't give a shit about your opinion' attitude that the owner gave the patrons! She made it clear that she could care less about customer service! As I mentioned before, the food was good, but for me the customer service needs to be equally as good for me to return - and that means ACCOMODATING YOUR CUSTOMERS! For a small town, I will be surprised if this business survives under this model. Cashier was equally unpleasant when cashing out - no personality, no 'thank you' for spending your hard earned money with us. Nothing - blank, void. We will...
Read moreI just read a poor review about Udderly Divine and I completely disagree! I absolutely LOVE Udderly Divine! I am a regular here and really appreciate delicious, quality home cooked items at affordable prices. The review said their food wasn't anything special and overpriced. (They say one of the first signs of Covid is you lose your sense of taste....?) Anyways, I, too, am on a limited budget but a greasy burger at a corporate fast food chain costs about as much as a delicious home made item at this LOCAL INDEPENDENTLY (female) OWNED business. I will go out of my way to pick up a delicious fall chicken salad, or Italian lemon iced lemon cookie or literally the best corn chowder you have ever tasted made with LOCAL Hauser Farms corn. Theresa gets up well before dawn to start making food for the day and you can taste the care she puts into her meals. Everything is spotless inside the restaurant and I've seen them wipe down the payment pad several times. (Maybe if you're worried, wear gloves and pay with cash next time?) Theresa and her daughter will ALWAYS greet you with a smile and warm welcome and make sure you are taken care of. I'm really sorry this person had a bad experience. I've seen many businesses, especially restaurants, come and go in the time this one has been open. The only "big statement" I get is that this local business is STILL OPEN despite the pandemic, because local folks appreciate great tasting, homemade food at affordable food and good customer service. Ladies, THANK YOU for what you provide to our little...
Read moreUpdate: went through a read some of the responses from the so called 'owner', the way she behaves makes a ton of sense.
We stopped by Udderly Devine Café & Bakery for a meal and had a pretty mixed experience. The food itself was solid—we had the fish and an open-face burger, both of which were tasty. The guy at the front counter was super nice, as were the waitresses, which we appreciated.
However, the setup of the place was bizarre. One person was juggling everything at the front—taking orders for coffee, pastries, and ice cream while also handling carry-out orders and checkouts for the diner in the back. He even had to walk to the kitchen to grab food orders. It was honestly overwhelming just watching him try to manage it all. Eventually, someone who seemed to be the manager stepped in, but instead of offering real support, she made a few condescending remarks that came off as pretty rude, especially in front of customers. A simple "How can I help?" would’ve gone a long way instead of, "Do you even know your name?" and snappy comments about where things were located.
Also, if you're going to offer lattes, please invest in a real milk steamer instead of using a Nespresso frother—it makes a difference!
Overall, the food and service from the staff were good, but the way the place is run definitely needs some work. The setup feels chaotic, and the management could use a refresher on professionalism...
