When we first arrived the motel was small and older and lots of guys were hanging out in front of their rooms talking and since our room just happened to be between theirs, I felt a little intimidated walking between them to open our door. But, they were a construction team that we're quiet all night and gone early in the morning. We got a room with a kitchenette, which was a separate room with a full sized refrigerator a portable stovetop and the necessities (real plates, silverware, corkscrew, plastic wine glasses). There was even a kitchen table with four chairs. Water was plenty hot with really good pressure. Free breakfast was a few basic items on a table in the lobby. Staff seemed friendly. They had a mini ironing board and iron for is to use upon request. Satellite TV and free Wi-Fi. Nice view of mountains in distance from front of room. No pool, no ice machine although there was an ice bucket so maybe front desk would get some for you. Our spot also had a little table & chairs out n front of our room. Bed was big & comfy. Things seemed pretty clean, although older. Why not 5 stars? The connector door to next room was thin and you could hear neighbors like they were guests in your house. A little uncomfortable but not unbearable. Also, we stayed 2 days and, although it is nice to know they clean rooms well, the vacuuming was loud on both sides of us and some cleanup happening outside our back window was also loud. Overall,...

There's nothing worse than a thief.

I made my wife and I tuna salad in our room at the hotel before we left out exploring for the day. I prepared three containers (nice Pyrex glass with plastic lids) with the tuna salad, sliced red onions, and the last with pepperocini peppers.

Unfortunately, I left them in the fridge when we checked out of the hotel. That was a big mistake.

Just about noon, I started making lunch at the park, and realized I had left our sandwich makings in the hotel room. Since we were only a couple of blocks away, I drove back to the hotel and explained what happened.

I was immediately told, "There wasn't anything left in the fridge" by the manager. The maids were not sure who actually cleaned the room, but somehow they were also sure nothing was left in the fridge.

Like I say, there's nothing worse than a thief. Of course I knew exactly where I left the sandwich makings. I had just put them in the fridge a few hours earlier, and forgot to take them with us!

Other than that, the rooms were clean (haha). The ventilation system puts neighboring rooms on a "party line" - you can plainly hear your neighbor's every word. That was annoying, since we had late-night neighbors.

The bath tub drain was plugged, but I was able to get the hairball through by flipping the drain valve several times. Then the drain ran very slowly, but it at least drained.

The WiFi worked OK.

I would not recommend this...

Where should I begin?.....LOL.. This place is a gem, without a doubt a KEEPER. Let me start from the beginning: I called to make a reservation after doing research online and the lady on the phone was as GOOD AS IT GETS..Who ever hired her can pat themselves on the back for a job well done. She could not have been more pleasant to work with. When I got there after hiking TOO FAR ...LOL...at Red Rock, absolutely exhausted and stinky she was still the BEST. The room was absolutely clean.....and I looked everywhere. It's not fancy. It's not a resort with swimming pool and jacuzzi. What it is, is a GREAT PLACE for what I wanted. The best way to explain my experience was like staying at a very good friend's guest house. Just a warm, homey, inviting atmosphere. You don't feel as if in a motel room. It had everything I wanted but not the extras I didn't. Let me give one example........no room phone....why would a person want one? Are you ready to pay more for one? NOT ME. I have my cell for that. But what really make this place sparkle was the lady at the front desk. Even trying to find a weakness/fault...I could not. If I take into account everything this place offers for the price..........FIVE STARS........I travel a lot and have NEVER found a place that is a better bang for the buck. Who ever is the owners PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make more just like this and most IMPORTANTLY clone the woman who runs the...

TL;DR: Fort Verde Suites in Camp Verde, AZ, is a comfortable and spacious budget hotel with great amenities, excellent water pressure, and comfy beds. Thin walls, but overall a great stay. Fort Verde Suites is a quaint and comfortable budget option in Camp Verde, AZ. Check-in was quick and easy—I was in my room within 10 minutes. The room was spacious, featuring a microwave, fridge, and coffee table, which added convenience. The bathroom was clean, with incredible water pressure in the shower, and the bed and pillows were super comfortable—I woke up without any aches, which is always a plus. While the walls are a bit thin, it wasn’t disruptive enough to affect my sleep. My only minor complaint is the lack of outlets, but it didn’t detract much from the overall experience. If I’m in the area again, I’d definitely stay here. It’s a cozy and pleasant place for a budget-friendly price.

The stay was great. We stayed in the queen mini suite and it was spacious for our family of 4. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable comparable to the high end hotels. They had a refrigerator in the room as well as coffee maker and small bar like table for sitting and eating. The bathrooms were well stocked with shampoo conditioner soaps and makeup remover towelettes and hair dryer. My husband was able to set up the nintendo switch for the kids and used our phones to cast movies and shows as the satellite channels were not working. AC nice and cold. We loved the location too. Just walking distance from restaurants shops and a bakery as well as historic Fort Verde which I highly recommend. This place is definitely a gem and we will be back.

What a nice surprise this was! A luxury room, an outdoor activity center and gathering place in the back with a dual Olympic regulation horseshoe pit, located next to the Camp Verde feed store with a display of exotic chickens that you can schedule an encounter with for free and hand feed with meal worms. A short distance from historic Fort Verde epicenter of the Apache Wars a series of armed conflicts between the United States Army and various Apache tribal confederations fought in the southwest between 1849 and 1886, though minor hostilities continued until as late as 1924 and whenever Walmart has a sale on beer. Close to an array of amazing antique stores and five-star restaurants, all at a very reasonable price.
