Aqui Campbell — Restaurant in Campbell

Wifey picked up dinner from Aqui’s, I told her to order me “ what ever” I wasn’t in the mood for figuring out menu’s this evening. She came back with a pork burrito for me with all kinds off sauces. It came with a fresh Mango salad and Aqui’s dressing of choice for the salad. Wifey also go me their Ghost hot sauce “honestly it was less then mild, very disappointing” that being said it was very good, actually I found that all 4 different sauces that I tried were very good on my burrito, the green sauce, for me, was the best My salad was very good and was of good quality. It had leafy lettuce with mango and dried cranberries. The burrito was freaking amazing!!! 5 stars all day long with huge pieces of pulled pork rice and honestly I don’t know what else they put in it, they also put some kind of sauce in there which just made it taste amazing!! Wifey also ordered Sangria “they blend ingredients with alcohol” best I’ve ever had 5 stars. Aqui’s has super good food with fresh ingredients I definitely will be back. So why 4 stars and not 5? “Trust me it was a close 5 “. This restaurant resides in the heart of Campbell downtown. There fine in as well as takeout options in this place. The ambience is really nice with tall ceilings and panoramic window panes letting in lots of sunlight and also a pleasant view into the foot traffic on the sidewalks in the downtown area. We ordered the Cotija tacquitos, Avocado roasted corn bowl, firecracker organic tofu and the cottage cheese quesadillas. For starters we ordered the Aqui sampler dip which has a trio of avocado salsa Fresca, hummus with hot sauce and black bean dips with homemade tortilla chips. The chips was really tasty and so were the three dips. I really liked the hummus with hot sauce combo. In addition there is an unlimited sauce bar with lots of varieties. I really liked the Chipotle aioli, roasted tomatillo salsa, Serrano salsa and the habanero salsa. As for the mains, the tacquitos were really tasty and filling. This was well completed by the cilantro rice and the guacamole. We had requested for the vegan option of the firecracker tofu dish and the restaurant graciously accommodated for that request. The dish really turned out to be very tasty as well. In fact all the vegetarian dishes can be made vegan upon request. The quesadillas and the corn bowl were really tasty as well. First of all, let's get one thing straight. This place is called "Aqui".  It's the Spanish word for “here."  I know that their poorly-designed logo makes the last letter look like an "s", but there's no such word as "Aquis" or "Aqui's."

My wife and I are semi-regular customers at the Campbell location. We keep going back (mostly for lunch) because their meals are truly innovative, beautifully presented, and are an exceptional value for the money.

On our most recent visit, I ordered the chef’s special grilled Pacific MahiMahi served with papaya ginger salsa on a sesame noodle cake. My wife had one of her favorites from the regular menu, the grilled shrimp and crab cake main plate served with mashed sweet potatoes and chipotle corn salsa. We shared a delicious bowl of their weekly special tomato basil soup. Since we had no room for dessert, we took home a slice of their special lemon cheesecake which we thoroughly enjoyed.

The restaurant is always squeaky clean with frequent bussing of tables. The staff observes all the latest COVID protocols which is reassuring these days.
