Debuted at Farmers Markets in 2012 Manresa Bread has since expanded to five storefronts, a Christmas Eve visit to the Campbell location tallying $119 including tax, tip and mandatory 3% âService Feeâ suggesting David Kinch wonât go broke despite shuttering his Michelin 3* flagship.
Citing âQuality of Ingredients, Quality of Technique, and Quality of Learningâ as core values, and doing a good job of convincing national media that Avery Ruzicka's Monkey Bread should sell out moments after opening, guests at Manresa Bread can expect dense $8 Biscuits and $7.50 Lattes plus Pain au Chocolat so underfilled that the taste is nearly imperceptible.
âUtilizing what is around usâ in the case of local Flour milled in-house daily, though one does wonder if Los Gatos secretly grows Pineapples used in the âUpside Down Kouign Amann,â better choices include the classic version wet with Butter at the base but crunchy from middle on up.
Seasonal as relates to Cranberries, assertive in the case of a Gluten Free Polenta Muffin and balanced by Goat Cheese in the middle of Viennoiserie, Proteins come in the form of Housemade Sausage or crisp Bacon on a $15 BLT brightened by Vinaigrette on good Bread.
Not forgetting an Almond Croissant, lots of rise and natural Filling far better than the Frangipane mess served elsewhere, it seems safe to say that using Whole Wheat doesnât make Ruzicka's Chocolate Chip Cookie anymore âhealthyâ though the 50/50 ratio of Walnuts to Dark Chocolate does make it less sweet and more...
Read moreI had been really looking forward to trying this place and had an opportunity for my first taste test a few days ago. I order the prosciutto sandwich on a baguette which I eat really excited about because it had veggies and unique ingredients. I also ordered an iced matcha latte and my friend ordered the turkey/cranberry sandwich and a coffee. The coffee and matcha latte came out within a few minutes. We then proceeded to wait, and wait, and wait for the sandwiches. A server finally came over to deliver incorrect sandwiches which he realized belonged to another table. At this point it had been about 30 minutes so we inquired about our food. They quickly brought out two cold sandwiches, which is fine, they were meant to be that way. The baguette was so tough and chewy it was no longer in edible condition it was also so thick that there was no way I could even take a bite out of it if it even if it the bread was fresh. The turkey cranberry looked great and the bread was sliced and more conducive to eating. After much debate, I finally went back in and apologized that I was unable to eat the tough, hard bread and they gave me a brioche BLT to replace it. The bread was soft and ingredients were fresh. It was pretty messy and kind of fell apart I took bites, iso I ended up just eating it with a fork. The quality isnât what I expect from Manresa, but hopefully I came...
Read moreI heard that Manresa Bread has some amazing pastries, especially the kouign amann! I wasn't entirely sure if this location and the Los Gatos location were the same in concept, but I went to this one since it's closer to me. Since I went in the afternoon, most of their breads were already gone...that's disappointing but totally my fault since I came very late!
This café was very spacious, lots of tables and seating, this place is very nice to study or relax and have a small lunch. I wound up getting their matcha latte (hot) along with their salmon avo toast. My friend got their (hot) cappuccino and a chocolate mousse. You honestly can't go wrong with such basic drinks, so I enjoyed them to the fullest. My toast was topped a lot with a salad of some sorts? So it was difficult eating, until I noticed they provided the table with a cup of utensils so I was able to eat my toast haha! The avo was super creamy and parred well with the salmon and salad. I would definitely come here again and hopefully get some of...
