I ordered 70 chicken legs for a Ramadhan Iftar event. The owner initially quoted a price, which I accepted and paid. The next day, he called saying he had made a pricing error and needed to increase the cost by $50. I agreed and paid the additional amount.
However, on the morning of the event, he called again demanding yet another $50, claiming the price of chicken had increased. I was shockedâchanging the price twice, especially on the day of the event, is unacceptable. I asked to cancel the order, but he told me it was already half-cooked and non-refundable. He made it clear I couldnât pick it up without paying the extra $50, and I wouldn't be getting my previous payment back either.
Reluctantly, I went to pick up the order, prepared to pay just to ensure our guests wouldnât go without. When I voiced my frustration, the owner became rude and aggressive. I collected the food and left to stay on schedule for the event.
Later, when we started preparing the food for our guests, we discovered he had only given us 60 pieces instead of the 70 we paid for. Unbelievable.
I hadnât planned to leave a review, but after recently seeing how low chicken prices are at Restaurant Depotâwhere he sources his productsâI felt compelled to share our experience. The owner was rude, dishonest, and entirely unprofessional throughout the process. We wonât be returning, and weâve already shared this experience with our community.
-----' Update after owner's untruthful response:
I provided a detailed explanation of what exactly happened, and here are more details for those who care to find a quality and professional businessânot a shady restaurant that would scam you and then lie about the whole situation.
There are two managers: a younger Yemeni employee who is a nice guy, and then the owner, an older tall man referred to as Hajji. This Hajji guy is the one who tries to scam people. Be aware of him.
So let me add some more details maybe it helps with their memory. When I went to pick up the order and voiced my frustration, he rudely removed the large garlic sauce bowl from my order. I didnât care and just picked up my food and left, but it shows the kind of person he isâespecially after raising the price on me twice without giving me a chance to cancel or change the order.
I highly advise not doing business with this restaurant. But if you must, do NOT pay in advanceâor at least pay as little as possible as a depositâso they donât scam you like they did me.
Also, Iâve left both positive and negative reviews for restaurants and businesses Iâve dealt with. This guy lying and hiding behind shady behavior while questioning honest reviews is yet another reason to avoid this troubled restaurant.
Oh, and did I mention a couple of friends who dined there got food poisoning? :) Dine there at your own risk....

We were in the Ann Arbor area and ended up here in search of authentic Middle Eastern food. It is very much worth the drive.
-Special shout out to Ali who took great care of us! Our meal was based on his recommendations. He made sure our bread bowl was always filled and even gave me cheesecake for my graduation âşď¸ We also tried Fahsa (Yemeni Stew) for the first time thanks to him and it was amazing!
-The bread is made in house and comes to you fresh out the oven.
-We arrived early (11:00) and the lamb was still cooking, but it was very much worth the wait (

Fun fact they will often wait until the customer is at the store for pickup before firing the bread so that it is fresh and hot when you leave.
We ordered a lamb stew (the agdah) that was large and included some bones with tender flavorful meat that fell right off. The shredded lamb (fahsah) was likewise delicious and had a great liquidy juice (but not too oily) that was perfect to mop up with the bread. The various sauces were great too, my favorite being a special one that looked similar to the tahini but had some dark specks in it, if youâre reading this please let the people know what it was.
Couldnât recommend more, and it was a hit with the in laws who will be adding it to their rotation. We didnât anticipate such large portions so spent ~$25 per person but could have easily spent $15 and had enough for...
