I'm usually pretty forgiving of restaurants in the past two years because of the staffing shortage and such do to Covid, but what we experienced last night was inexcusable. My wife and I have tried this place before when we first moved to the area and it was okay, but not really impressed. I always like to give restaurants a second chance so I figured we'd try it again. My wife, toddler, and I were seated promptly when we arrived and then proceeded to wait about 10 minutes for some one to take our drink orders and bring chips to the table. We just decided to order our drinks, queso, and dinner at that point because we had been waiting so long just to get a drink order in. We waited another 10 minutes to get our drinks (which were already half way melted frozen margaritas) and no queso dip. While waiting we decided to try the chips and salsa....chips were pretty good however the salsa was basically tomato water...no flavor at all other than the huge pieces of oregano floating in the salsa. About 15-20 minutes past and I figured something was up as we had been in the restaurant about 40ish minutes at that point (restaurant wasn't that busy, and people who had arrived later had gotten their food). So we flagged down a waitress and she told us that our waitress was "sick" and she was trying to pick up the slack and that she couldn't find our ticket. First off you don't tell customers that an employee is sick during a global pandemic, especially when the sick waitress wasn't wearing a mask (not trying to be the mask police here). The waitress assured us that our waitress didn't have Covid and that she was just dizzy. This caused an adjacent table to get up and leave right away. The waitress that was filling in came back and said that our order was in...which it wasn't because the manager came over and apologized and said that our meal was on him and retook our order. I told him that I didn't want the food if the order hadn't been placed because our toddler was about to lose it. He ignored us and made the food anyway and we waited another 10-15 minutes while other customers continued to get their food. We about walked out, but our daughter was saying she wanted to eat so we stayed. We tracked down the manager again and he basically told us that we had to be patient and one of our items takes longer to cook so that's the reason we had to be patient. Didn't apologize just said the meal was on him. When the food arrived it was the most bland food I had ever had from a Mexican restaurant, I was happy I didn't have to pay for it because it's very overpriced for the quality. Very disappointed and will never come here again. If you are looking for great Mexican food in the area go to Los Tres Amigos, or drive to Los Amigos in Ypsi, better service and way better food. Heck i'd go to Chili's or Taco Bell over this place.
