The mix of terrible service and painful unpreparedness made our experience really bad. This place better change up some of their processes and employees or it wonāt last.
Updated Response to owner: Hello there! I thought Iād give some additional details on why our experience was so bad.
There was an older lady at the counter who took our order. We ordered a few breakfast sandwiches, a coffee, and an iced Oatmilk latte. About 10 minutes after ordering, the lady behind the counter let us know they were out of Oatmilk. She didnāt offer any alternatives or even apologize for the mistake - she just blankly told me they were out of Oatmilk. I asked what other options they had and she said they MIGHT have almond milk. I told her that was fine.
That same lady at the counter was SUPER frazzled - she loudly exclaimed (more than once) that she was āby herself with no helpā and shouted back to the kitchen multiple times asking āARE YOU DONE YET? I HAVE A LINE!ā. It was honestly totally unprofessional - there were probably 8 other people in the store uncomfortably looking around while hearing all this take place. While this was all taking place, she was casually walking back and forth behind the counter and didnāt look like she knew was she was supposed to be doing.
After waiting about 15 minutes for our order, our breakfast croissants didnāt have cheese and the drip coffee I got tasted burnt. I literally left right after, dumped the coffee, and went across the street to another coffee shop.
I love bakeries. And I love coffee. And we want these fun little places to succeed. Weād rather support local than patronize a Starbucks or some other big chain, but our experience totally sucked. Maybe it was a bad day for the person behind the counter, but it colored our experience and left us feeling like weād inconvenienced the store...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI hated to go to Subway, but the experience I had here was comically terrible.
My qualms with this store are more to their staff than anything else. I chose to take my patronage elsewhere as I absolutely could not stand the cashiers.
As I walked in, the first cashier had her back toward me. When she heard the door she kind of rolled her head over her shoulder to look at me, up and down, then resumed talking to the other cashier. No greeting, no acknowledgement that I even entered her store, just a cold look to then be completely ignored.
Before I ordered, I asked about their pesto. Pesto has parmesan, some parmesan has animal rennet, of which I can not eat. When I asked about the ingredients, the first cashier looked at the second, gave her a wide-eyed look and said āUhh, I donāt know.ā The second cashier looked me dead in the eye and told me it was pesto. Pesto, there was pesto in the pesto.
I swore my tongue started to bleed. I bit it so hard, to not tell them to, you know, go check. After an uncomfortable pause, she went into the back, grabbed the container and then held it OVER THE COUNTER for me to read. At this point, I was done, and seething to not show it. I quickly exited, took my business to Subway, and left it at that.
I would strongly recommend the first cashier, the tall blonde girl, to go moonlight in the back of a Sephora or somewhere where her personality is a bit more⦠palatable. I would ask the owner of the bakery to be far more discerning in their hiring practices to not ward off the unfortunate many who interact with this bakeryās workers.
All in all, I hope staffing changes are made and I can finally eat...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen I first moved to Canton, I was so excited to be a regular at this bakery. After giving this place 3 chances, I will never be going back. First time wasn't awful. Food was okay, and the drip coffee was very good, but the lady who took our order was rude and seemed like she would rather be anywhere else. Thought maybe she was stressed.... nope, the other times, she was also just rude. On another visit, they were a little busy, so I understood the staff might be stressed. Went up to order a chai and bagel. The lady went to go prepare my drink, sneezed in her bare hands, and then proceeded to grab the cup and prepare my drink without washing her hands. I was grossed out, at least sneeze in your shirt, of elbow, or if you're going to sneez in your hands, wash them... plzz or don't prepare food or drinks for others. The Chai was overly hot and had no flavor. On the last visit, I ordered a yogurt parfait. When I retrieved my order, I looked at in horror as the entire bottom and side of the container had globs of yogurt on it. I have no idea how whoever prepared it didn't notice that. They proceeded to wipe it off when I pointed it out. The whole container was just greasy and stickey from yogurt residue. I just could rationalize paying so much for that quality of service yet again, so I asked for a refund and decided never to come back. It's such a shame because they place could have potential with...
