Moma T is the perfect example of southern hospitality, and her smoked ham sandwich is the best I’ve had.
We were passing through town on a road trip with two little kids, and stopped at Moma T’s- having read great reviews.
When we arrived, we happened to catch Moma T herself meeting a delivery truck out front of her business. She explained that she’d had to close for the day because of staffing difficulties. The pandemic has been so hard on small business owners, certainly not sparing Moma T’s.
Instead of turning us away, she asked if she could bring out a couple of smoked ham sandwiches and lemonade to our kids. On the house. So unexpected, so generous, and truly the example of hospitality and small town charm. I felt so lucky for my children to witness this sort of kindness to strangers.
After some fun conversation, we left with a warm bag of delicious sandwiches, and an equally warm feeling in our hearts. Thanks Moma T- we’ll be back for the...
Read moreOh my! This family owned BBQ joint is THE BOMB! Moma T's owner (Tabatha) has gifted to her customers a little slice of heaven with her contagious smile, hugs and fabulous food. All I can say is: GET TO Moma T's AS FAST AS YOU CAN! You will not regret it. Make Moma T's your ONLY stop in Canton for freshly preapared and good home cooking food ... Moma T will thank you and so will...
Read moreI ordered the sliced brisket plate, it cost $22. There were 3 other tables occupied when I ordered, I waited over 30 minutes for the food to arrive. The brisket was cold to the touch, very small portion maybe 1/8 lb or less. The brisket was sliced paper thin. Very very tiny smoke ring on one side so it was obviously cooked mostly in an oven. Maybe a couple hours of smoke for a little flavor. I couldn’t identify the slight wood taste but definitely wasn’t oak or hickory. Zero fat so it must’ve been trimmed off prior to cooking. The meat wasn’t cooked until tender but the 1/10 inch thick slices made that irrelevant. The potato salad was ok, the fries were very good. I’ll never stop here again obviously but the workers were nice to me and the...
