Waffle House — Restaurant in Canton

Don't try a to go order. It would appear technology and customer service standards have left this chain behind. No way to order online. Who doesn't have online ordering now a days?

Tried delivery - after waiting an hour order got canceled - now not sure if order wasn't prepared or if no driver available but read on. After order cancelled, I tried calling to place the to go order. Got placed on hold. Actually they just set the phone down on the counter which means no one else could call during that time either. After over 10 glorious minutes of listening to the patrons eating they hung up the phone. Multiple attempts to call back resulted in pick up and hang ups, voice mail picking up, and it just ringing and ringing.

I then gave up and complained on the waffle house contact us website. I selected the "do not" contact me option and explained what happened and how disappointed I was. What do you know I received a call this morning in an attempt to explain to me how busy they get and sometimes you just have to go in to place your order. I whole heartedly agreed and suggested that if I had been asked to do so I would have. The caller went into entirely too much detail on how it is not their fault, they get busy, and I should have come in as sometimes they just stop answering the phone but he would definitely have a talk with the manager at the store.

Usually, I like eating here from time to time. But the food... Eh. I had to order online since they don't do orders over the phone (what the automated system said.) I got the All-star and my dad had the Texas cheesesteak melt plate. Firstly, my waffle was overdone. It was so dark, and my dad ended up taking it. I like the waffles but not when they look BURNT. Secondly, I don't order onions in my hashbrowns when I order the All-star, so, I asked my dad if they put onions in his hashbrowns with the Texas cheesesteak plate, and he doesn't recall seeing any. They were in mine instead, and I didn't realize there was onions in it until after I almost finished eating it... $43 just on food for me, my dad, and my son. It was a whole lot easier to just order over the phone instead of online because I don't think I could add anywhere on the site that I wanted my waffle cooked lightly .-. Ordered to go over the phone. I repeated my order 3 times which was very simple(hashbrowns all the way with no onions no peppers & a sausage egg cheese sandwich on butter bread) and had her repeat it back to me. When she repeated it, she repeated it correctly. Well when we picked it up and got home it was not correct. There was hashbrowns all the way with everything except peppers so the onions were in it and the sandwich all we got was butter bread. So I called back up there and the same lady answered the phone I tell her what’s wrong she tries telling me she didn’t hear the part with no onions or the sausage egg cheese for the sandwich and proceeded to argue with me when I tell her she repeated the order back to me and it was correct.
