A truly phenomenal restaurant experience. I visit this area occasionally to see my parents and was really surprised that there would be a kbbq place, let alone one that far exceeded the ones I've tried around DC. Not only is their selection of meats/cuts varied and rich, but they also have a phenomenal cocktail menu and (while I haven't tried it yet) their sushi menu looked like a perfect compliment. To top it all off, their staff is attentive and exceedingly skilled and cordial. Definitely ask for Kiki if you visit. As for specifics, this was the first kbbq place I'd seen with Duck on the menu, and I'll absolutely be asking every other kbbq place why they aren't doing it. It was brined/seasoned exceptionally well and the skin crisped up just right on the heat of the grill. With a photogenic scoring to it that I failed to get a good picture of as I was too busy digging in. I also got to sample some of the wagyu and ribeye from my dining partners and melt-in-your-mouth-good barely begins to describe it. The zabuton/Denver cut in particular was a lovely treat. Tender in all the right ways and seasoned just right to be perfect alone, and heightened even further by the side dish sauces. With any kbbq place it's important to mention the banchan. Their variety and quality was great. Especially top marks to the kimchi daikon and the pickled daikon, but maybe that's because of how much I like daikon. And similarly the pasta salad was the least liked. It was a skillful and tasty pasta salad, but it's just not my cup of tea. As for non-grilling options, the oysters were quite good and presented with care. And the Tteokbokki was exactly as I wanted it. Topped with a smattering of mozzarella and just the right amount of fish cake and cabbage. Perhaps it's because of a recent traumatic tteokbokki experience, but this really hit the spot and served as a great sharing dish amidst the grilled meats. Only change is that I might need to ask it to be spicier next time as the spice did pale in comparison to other places I've tried it. Lastly, the bar was a delight. Not only was the mai tai exceptionally made (high quality orgeat and strong enough to make it all you need for a good night), but their soju was also chilled just right and delicious. I also highly recommend the white carnation. Simple, yet blissful texture-wise. Anyone who is a fan of egg whites and peach should try it. I usually try to make not of some kind of low-notes for a review, but I can honestly only think of one very small issue. As a party of 3 having a rather large selection of foods to try, table space was at a premium. It's a little hard to imagine fitting 4 people with a similar amount of food comfortably. But that's why I'll most certainly be planning on reserving their private dining room the next time I come with a larger party. If you enjoy meat, sushi, or alcohol, please come try Ember Korean Steakhouse. I'm not in the area often enough and would love to see them flourish so that I can rely on them being there every time I'm down. They truly deserve it.

Great place for Korean BBQ but something you go to occasionally. This was my first time there and it was my wife and I anniversary. We wanted to try something different and I was glad we did. The waiter was outstanding. Very easy to talk to and gave great recommendations. He ended up doing the cooking although you can choose to cook yourself. If you select all you can eat you have to cook the meat and the selection of meats are the least expensive ones only. We splurged a bit as I have never tried Wagyu steak and that was the most expensive at $78 I think. We also got the Duck at $37. The Wagyu was really good but I’m not sure it was worth the price. One of the reasons was the Duck was so good and at half the price I would be more inclined to try other lesser expensive meats. The real home run were the sauces. You get 3 sauces and all 3 of them were incredible. The sesame oil one worked best with the Duck. The other two were both incredible with the steak. You also get 7 little dishes that they keep refilling along with salad and soup plus white rice. The soup was one of my favorites. It is a little spicy which I love but others might think it’s too much. The salad was similar to ones at habachi restaurants with a ginger dressing. We did like some of the sides more than others as my wife loves their version of potato salad. It looked like a ball of mash potatoes but was sweet. This was a fun night out and I would highly recommend but it is not something I would do a lot. It would be fun to go with friends and share different dishes as they encourage you to share. Although we spent a lot, you could easily eat for much less and still have a ton of food.

Absolutely AMAZING dining experience! Service is amazing, food is amazing ,the restaurant is visually apealing & what you get is worth the price. You could go for a special occasion or more casual dinner as the restaurant has a romantic yet still chill vibe. The restaurant def has a relaxing, cool atmosphere. Delicious smells hit you as soon as you walk inside . This is one of those places where the server or you cook right at your table, and the experience makes for an exciting dining experience. Presentation is beautiful at this place, and everything visually takes your breath away, and then when you taste it, it's equally as impressive. We shared a main course ( ment for one) but was MORE THAN ENOUGH, especially since we had soup, salad,an appetizer, and a sushi roll. Your main course comes with sides that delight your palate. The soup that comes with your dinner is delicious with great spice. The house salad & dressing is yummy. The crab Rangoon ( made with blue crab) is the BEST I have had anywhere. Sushi 🍣 was BEYOND FRESH & I will go back just for the sushi. They also have a full bar, some cold sake, and hot sake where you can add a flavor ( I have never seen this, and I added rasberry, and it was beyond delcious!!!) The steak options are a higher price point- worth it,however, you could go here, and they have more inexpensive dinner options that are available on their menu. We had never been here, and I have never had wagyu beef, so we sprang for it. The lobster was really fresh and a good size! Our server was very attentive & explained the menu options to us.Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed!
