Don’t waste your money here. I’ve done well over 100 rooms at 75+ places. This ranks in the bottom 20% of those places. It’s one of the most expensive escape rooms in the area. This is the second time I’ve gone here, deciding to give them the benefit of the doubt and try the new room. It surely had to be a better experience than my first visit a few years ago. The main positive with this place is that the rooms are decorated really well. They look great. Beyond that, you get some unprofessional employees that are wearing pajamas to work and are not very pleasant or personable. You could easily tell they were there because it was a job and they didn’t really care. This time we did the new diamond heist room. Again the room looked great. However it was poorly designed. Theres a single speaker that you can hear the game master through. It worked pretty well in the first part but after that you can’t hear them because it’s in a completely different area. The majority of the locks are in the same cramped corner along with another puzzle. This was a large room and while 2 people try to move around each other in this cramped corner, one working on the puzzle and the other attempting locks, the others have to wait around. You would think the designers had learned to spread out the locks and puzzles so that more people can work on them without bumping each to each other. There are 2 doors in the room that aren’t used one of which doesn’t make any sense at all. All of this I would have expected when escape rooms were first introduced not these days when they’ve had time to innovate and improve the experience. There was only one instance of the provided tools not working properly. The room also hasn’t been overused yet so all of the locks and needed papers, etc are in decent shape so I guess that’s an improvement. Overall, spend your money at a family run place. They’re cheaper and you’ll see their passion and innovation more...
Read moreMy coworkers and I came here for the Zombie escape room and had a blast. This place is unique from other escape rooms in that the host stays in the room during the hour you're "escaping". Deanna, our host, took notes the entire time and then at the end of our experience, gave titles to each participant and summarized our accomplishments. She was not only hilarious the whole time but also spot on in analyzing our personalities. Zane was our Doctor Oxy, the zombie. Having the zombie was an additional pressure to the escape room that made it that much more of an adrenaline pumping experience. Zane was hilarious as well.
One of the pros is that the zombie escape room accommodates up to 12 people (most escape rooms cap the number at as low as 4 or as high as 10) so it's good for big groups. The summary at the end was a nice touch as well.
Some of the cons are that it's a low-tech/budget production, although that didn't take away from our experience. The zombie costume/make up wasn't as elaborate as it could have been and the props for the picture at the end were all posters that didn't look to great.
Having said that, the Groupon makes it totally worth it - each person in our group paid $23, which is $10 less than we would have paid at most places in the city for an...
Read moreAs an escape room enthusiast, I thought I would try this place. There were just two of us and it was 130 on a Tuesday. I figured we could just pop in and try a room, since the website had five rooms available for the 230 slots. When I arrived, some guy working there informed me that a couple walked in just 15 minutes before we did and because he was the only one working, we couldn’t try a room. He even said he had to block the other four rooms online for the 230 booking slots. What?! They have five rooms you can try, but if one group comes in to try a single room the whole place shuts down?! I told him I used to manage an escape room and I would be responsible for 5 rooms at a time. I’m not sure if this is how the owner wants things done or what, but seems like a loss of a lot of money if you can’t have multiple rooms going at the same time. We decided not to come back and went somewhere else. Don’t trust their website if it looks like all the rooms are open, because one couple can shut the whole place down by playing a single room. We...
