How often do we hear it said, or have we ourselves as parents said, kids listen to your parents? Well parents, sometimes we need to listen to our kids! My kids have been telling me to try this place for the longest time. So we finally did.
It was a somewhat chilly evening, low 60’s. Still we wanted to sit outside on the patio. They had the gas torches burning so it really was nice out there. The outside dining crowd respected each other so noise level was moderate and friendly. The interior is small so if you want to sit inside you may have to wait for a bit. Chairs are comfortable and well I might say the tables are kind of small, especially for the trays your meals are served on. We had 4 people and sat at a table for 4. We had to remove the condiments caddy in order for all four of our trays to fit without crowding up our table.
The beer! Wow! The beer! I had 2. Forced Resignation and Hazy Highwire. Forced Resignation was fantastic! The selection they have on tap are very, very good. I researched a majority of the beers on Beer Advocate and Untapped to see ratings. I would say a high majority of their selection was in the top end. They have 20+ beers to choose from. A very nice mix of styles.
Our server Emily brought us loaded chips to munch while we drank. These were very good. We also had Cajun dusted chips. Both were good. The chips were very warm and crispy. Nice light dusting on the Cajun. Made it so it wasn’t an overwhelming taste, you could still get the chip flavor. The loaded chips were good. Nice sauce and meat. Very appetizing!
For dinner my youngest daughter(the one who told me about Keg&cow, along with my youngest son)ordered the pulled pork,. The meat was tender with very good flavor. The BBQ sauce had a nice sweet tang to eat. The other 3 of us had the bourbon burger. I switched the cheddar for blue cheese on mine. Great job chef! He or she put just the right amount of bleu cheese on the burger. I could still enjoy the flavors of the burger without just tasting bleu cheese.
Emily, our server Emily was fantastic! Very hospitable! She made us feel like guests, not customers. There is a difference. Big difference! Emily is very attentive to the needs of her guests. She won’t rush you. I tested her patience a bit. She didn’t show anything but friendliness and hospitality. I highly recommend her if you go.
The food was great, the beer was exceptional, and the service was outstanding! I thank my kids for the recommendation! I believe it’s time for we parents to start listening to our kids!

Read moreSo everything started out great. After arriving at 7:30 to find a 20 minute wait for a table 3 bar stools vacated and there were 3 of us so it made perfect sense to take the stools and eat at the bar. After about 5 minutes and at least 20 times the bartender passed is by we were greeted with politeness and we ordered our drinks and asked for menus. The drinks were served in an acceptable time frame and we wasted no time ordering our food.. we asked for 2 appetizers and we each ordered a burger. The apps came out in about 10 minutes and they were delicious. We devoured them since it was close to 8:00 by then. Now the wait… we noticed people that were seated after 8:00 already had their food and none for us… at about 8:30 we inquired “ what happened to our order? “ the reply was it got busy. So we all turned around and saw a practically empty dining room. The bartender said the kitchen got slammed but that doesn’t explain people seated after we ordered our food were already leaving having eaten and paying their check. I’ve worked on kitchens before and I know when an order is lost not delayed because of over crowding. Well the food finally arrived at 8:45… the restaurant closes at 9:00.. and it arrived just in time to coincide with the nightly mopping of the floors and bar area. Great combination of aromas of cheeseburger and cleaning fluids. I understand everybody wants to go home after work but do you have to mop the floors right behind me while I’m trying to eat? The burger was tasty and the chips were too but the lame excuse of just being too busy to cook our food and the hectic cleaning procedures going on in front of and behind us are a...
Read moreMy first experience was good, middle of the day and had great service. I went back on a Sunday after riding and service was terrible. So bad that I will not go back. After ordering food that took forever (and we only ordered 3 burgers for the 3 of us) it was over cooked and extremely dry. When we ordered, I let the waitress know we would be ordering a burger to go for my 13 year old daughter. After paying my tab, got up to use the restroom only to find that our table was given to another set of patrons, and I was ok with that. I went to the bar area where the waitress gets food and was standing there when I was asked to go back to my seat. I then told her, our table was given away. Again, it did not bother me at all to give the table up, we were done anyways. We stood outside waiting after being told it would only be a couple of minutes. Not only did I see a table get seated, but order food, get food delivered, eat the food, then order more food to go..... to my astonishment, the food they ordered to go was given to them and we were still waiting.... FINALLY 40 minutes later, after I listen to another waitress that is complaining that my to go burger is being rushed....the burger was finally started! We got the burger and it was TERRIBLE....made my 13 year old sick to her stomach!
I am stunned at the lack of leadership to keep the employees in-line and how service can vary so much.....too many options around to have...
