Wasabi Sushi — Restaurant in Capitola

I would give this place a zero star if I could. Very rude owner. The place is nasty. They keep the fish in a small showcase in front that looks dirty. The last time I went I saw the owner making sushi, i saw him take out the fish and he poured out the water that was on the plate it was on. He also used the same knife over and over again, not even rinsing it, he only wiped it off with a old disgusting and dirty rag. Do not eat there. I also did no see a sanitation rating at all, I looked for it, and did not find it, and I was there for 45 min. The floor is sticky. I would rather pay 3 times the price for less sushi than eat there.the amount of food you get here is ridiculously small for the price.ALL THE FOOD HERE IS CROSS CONTAMINATED.I bet that if the FDA came to see how the store is without giving a notice they would shut this place down.the food grade should be an F.the refrigerator os filled with the owners food and the customer food ingedients.they put raw food on top of cooked food.old food on top of new food.I have had better sushi for less .If you wanted sushi near capitola go somewhere else.I recommend poke house in pacific avenue santa Cruz or MoBo...

Pros: the sushi is really good, and the staff is nice. Cons: they ration the sauces and some of the employees seem upset if you ask for more than 1 (like 1 each of two types ex: 1 spicy mayo 1 eel sauce) no matter the amount of rolls you order. They add extra ingredients to their rolls that aren't listed on the menu. This is think is what i dislike the most. What if someone has a intolerance or allergy. Ex: honeymoon rolls, they added a pesto sauce. It made the roll inedible. And now they've added italian CHEESE to the Volcano roll. They said they were trying to upscale their menu. Honestly, it was fine before. I think the additions do mot compliment the other ingredients and make the rolls odd and not desirable. Theyre also a little pricey, but similar to most places in the county 3 stars is my generous opinion...

Where to start ! I ordered take out poke , salad with fish , and .calamaris .Instead of calamaris I was sent home with a shrimp roll . Then poke was made up big pieces of tuna , weird seaweed salad with tomatoes , a little bit of rice and very weird sauce . The salad was a bunch of seaweed salad , with salad and bunch of raw fish not fresh color and same bad sauce . I did not eat any of it and gave it to my dogs who had a feast . I am sorry but I wasted my money , and apart from the shrimp roll I did not ordered nothing was edible . This is the worst Japanese restaurant I ever been in !! How can you make Japanese cuisine a disaster ?? and...
