Our entire experience was terrible. We were placed on a waitlist and told that our wait would be an hour and we were number 15 on the list. We left thinking we had plenty of time to run home for a few minutes. Half way to our house we got a text message which was 15 minutes later that our table was ready. It should have been a red flag but we laughed it off. I now know that the food people were getting was probably so disgusting that they were leaving. For starters we ordered a triple dipper with 2x the wings and some cheese sticks. We requested no ranch and were given ranch anyway. Our wings were cold and tasted like they had been sitting under a hot lamp for a long time. The cheese sticks were also cold and the breading was nearly black which hinted that the restaurant was frying in dirty grease. We ordered chips and salsa and told our server he could go ahead and bring it out as and he never did until we put in our full food order. The chips had a bitter taste and were darker than normal which further confirmed dirty/old grease. One of us ordered a double old timer burger and substituted for a black bean patty. The back bean burger was burnt to a crisp and smashed flat like a pancake. There was no flavor to it at all other than burnt. We were supposed to have the Mexican street corn with our entree but were served cold fries instead. Upon bringing it to the attention of the server, the server laughed it off and said oh my, the corn is back there somewhere... let me run and grab it. When we viewed the bill the entree was put in for fries so it was the servers fault for ringing it in wrong. The Cajun shrimp pasta was cold and had no temperature what so ever. The shrimp was so cold it was like it came out of the refrigerator. The Alfredo sauce was overly thick and dried out like it had been sitting and was also cold. The noodles were cooked to absolute mush and also cold. This was our first experience here in about two years and we had a similar experience the last time we went. At that time when the same Cajun Shrimp pasta was also cold we were told by the server that the Alfredo sauce had been unplugged for no telling how long. Tonight was not any different from our previous experience. We won't be back. They have had plenty of time to fix things and obviously they don't care. When we left around 7:30 PM we overheard our server telling a new table that now the entire restaurant was out of salsa at this time....at 7:30 PM on a...
Read moreUpdate (5/28/20): We ordered curbside - Chips and Salsa (1/4 of salsa needed for a bag of chips), two 2 for $10 meals and a side of street corn. Our salads were WET, spongy croutons, wet cheese in pint size cups. It was obvious that salads were prepped for serving and put in the refrigerator for days. Fries were limp and cold, burger not prepared as asked and cold. Street corns cob was dry, corn was absolute mush and not prepared as we've enjoyed it before. We've always received very large to go drinks in the past. Today? Smalls and so full of ice you couldn't stick your straw through! It was disgusting!! $33 in food and all but the salsa/chips went in the trash! Chili's sent me a survey. When I rated them low and hit next, it said my survey wasn't valid! If Chilli's restaurants cannot receive fresh product and competent cooks to prepare it...do us a favor and CLOSE! (Previous) Was not pleased we were charged $1.99 for "games" when my 9 yr old was fiddling with their electronic payment machine. Had NO IDEA she had entered into a program that we had to pay for! The restroom (it was a late supper, about 8pm) looked as nasty as a bar restroom at 2am! Filthy and disgusting - trash overflowing on to the floor, paper on the floors, etc. You get the picture. My veggie burger was in pieces inside the bun/sandwich - so whomever cooked it knew it was in pieces when they put it on the bun... It was also overdone and dry. Waitress offered me a "to go" Coke - but never came...
Read moreWhat can I say about the Carbondale Chili's? Well after trying this location twice, I cannot recommend it. Chili's is one of my fave places to eat but this one is just not good. It is a busy location (college town) but maybe that could be part of the issue. There is no one over 25 that works there that I have seen. The food is below average. Food has been absent both times (corn on the cob, beans etc.) and not brought out until we had doggie bags. Both times we ordered food there and others that have come in 10-15 minutes after us were enjoying their food while we still waited. The prime rib tex mex bowl sat on the table not half eaten because the "prime rib" was prime fat and gristle and the rest of the bowl was onion. I like onion but I don't want a whole onion in my dish. We got some chips and salsa to go and later when we decided to have some, the salsa container was about a quarter full and the chip bag wasnt even sealed! It almost seemed like we got someone else's left overs. The majority of staff just seems like it's a paycheck so customer satisfaction is not priority. I can only speak for the times I was there and those times were not enjoyable food wise or...
