MOD Pizza — Restaurant in Carbondale

I had ordered off the app so I could quickly stop in and pick up my pizza. Even though I arrived at the exact time it said it would’ve ready, I k ow things can take a couple extra minutes. As soon as I got into the store, I went up to the pick up area just to inform them that I was there. 10 minutes pass and no pizza, so I go up again to the pick up area to let the employee know. She quickly talked to someone about my order and I see another employee grab my receipt/order and he JUST started to make it. About another 10 minutes later, my pizza was ready so I go up to look at it through the glass. They forgot an ingredient that I had ordered so again, I let the same employee know. She tells that to the person working the oven (I would assume she was a manager) and the manager gave me an eye roll and a snarky “well cant we just put some on there now?” I told her yes, that’s fine but I just don’t want the pizza to burn if it goes in again. Another eye roll and throws out the pizza. Another 10 minutes later I FINALLY got my pizza. That was a whole 30 minutes past the time that it said it would be ready for pick up. The whole process is super unorganized, there were several people waiting before me who had ordered and their orders were either taking too long or had been messed up like mine. You have to be assertive if you’ve ordered from the app, otherwise no one will ask you if you need to be helped or ask why you’ve been standing around for so long. Our Company is in Cambria, IL. My Asst. & I go there at least 2x a month and HAVE NEVER complained about service or our pizza and have always gave a tip. But after tonight, ordering a pizza to go, I wouldn't give you a plug nickle fir service or their pizza after ordering Mod thick crust that was black on the bottom and the African American girl who was supposedly Mgmt, said make it again and then the boy who was making my request said say light crust, which no one ever said for me to request it that way, due to the fact I've never had to have a pizza redone in the 3 yrs or more We have been going there! In the beginning while the pizza preparation guy on the line was asking what I wanted was quite taken aback when I corrected him with the request I wanted more basil! If it cost more then fine, I would of PAID it! All I heard is that most people don't want that much basil! What the heck! I have a brick oven pizza oven on my deck! I chose to go to Mod for the time and convenience!!!! Then after not agreeing with the Pizza maker guy and him saying I was rude then at 9:10pm was told they are giving me my money back because they are closing down the line, we'll that is not what the website says! We normally eat at the Evansville Indiana location but was glad when we heard they had opened one a little closer to home. It is great pizza at a reasonable price served in a very timely manner (usually about 10 min). If you are like me and love pizza and like it with everything or just prepared your way without being charged extra then this is the place for you. I gave this Mods 4 stars a while back I figured that being new they just needed time to learn the basics, but this was our 4th-5th trip here and they just don't have it together. Poor communication, either not enough help or not doing their jobs. Didn't listen to what we wanted on our pizza or management pushing them to cut back. Tables not cleaned off, trash neeed emptied, sweetener for tea not stocked and after asking 2 different workers and waiting for longer than it took to cook my pizza finally got help.
