Krispy Krunchy Chicken — Restaurant in Carbondale

Ordered delivery through a third party app. Delivery was quick enough (well done Uber eats), but the food was seriously lacking. I ordered two of the gyro meals for my husband and myself. The meal includes one gyro, fries, and a side of giardiniera peppers for $12.99. With each meal, I added a drink for $1.99, making the meals $14.98 each and my total food order $29.96 before tax. After taxes and fees, I paid over $40 for my order to be delivered. I assumed that, at $12.99 each, we should receive a plentiful meal, right? Wrong! The pita pocket they used for the gyro was no bigger than a slice of bread. I will say- it was stuffed to its limits. However, that did make it a bit soggy and caused it to fall apart. The fries? They barely filled the little container half full. Sad... Oh- and that side of peppers?? There was none. How about that? The gyro tasted okay, but not great, and not much like any other gyro I have ever had. (Military family- been around the world and have had plenty of gyros over the years.) Needless to say, I won’t be ordering from here again as this meal was grossly overpriced for the portion size, taste, and quality. Honestly, I wouldn’t pay half the price they are charging for this meal. It’s pitiful. For reference- the photo shows the meal on a 8.5” paper plate. Pretty wimpy...

(Food) - Chicken Wings were majority battering and barely any meat, battering had no flavor even after I told them I want Cajun and they agreed to do it. The Biscuits were hard as a rock and literally almost took my teeth out , and one of them was literally missing the entire underhand after the guy pulled it out of the heat lamp. The fries were 100% made earlier in the day and some of the fries were soggy , while the others were hard. The only decent thing out of that meal was the signature Krispy sauce.

(Service) - The people were respectful and nice but my food took 15 minutes to be made , just to receive cold hard biscuits and cold wings and stale fries.

(Atmosphere) - The location on the outside looks like a gas station that was run down and closed, and then converted into a little minimart selling crispy chicken. After walking inside, everything felt super sketchy and didn’t smell very pleasing, I was slightly concerned and honestly wonder if a health inspector should come and...

This is the most expensive filthy store ever, every thing is over priced and sometimes you will find expired products on the shelves and inside the cooler, for example the yogurt is $1 dollar over priced again it is the great month of Ramadan that means he has to jack up the box of dates by $5 which makes it $15 and you can buy it some where else like the Citgo gas station down on south Illinois Ave for $9.99 and the owner of this shop who acts like he is very religious likes to take advantage of foreign people and people with food stamps, Everyone should thank Deeno every time you see him at the mosque for taking advantage of people. My advice to every one Go to the Citgo gas (Short Stop) station at 2101 South Illinois Ave just past Pleasant Hill Road across street from the Reserve and you will see the difference between the prices. I hope the Egyptian Corner closes soon. This is not an advertisement...
