Today I went in for lunch and ordered the modern Greek salad. It was noon and I had not had anything to eat yet and I was starving! I asked the person taking my order if I could have both gyro & chicken on my salad. I was told yes and I requested to have the chicken kabob as opposed to whatever chicken they now put on the salad. I was a lil shocked when total came to $33 but I didnt look at the receipt right away because LG is a bit pricy and inflation. When the food was delivered to my table, the chicken was on the salad along with a side plate of gyro. As I was eating, I got out my receipt to scan for points when I noticed I was charged $10.99 for salad, $7.49 to add chicken and $9.99 for a La cart gyro. Looking at the menu it says $3.79 to add chicken or gyro to salad. When I was finished I took my receipt to the counter and told a woman who appeared to be the manager that I was over charged. She looked at my receipt and explained the cost difference for the chicken kabob, which I understood however I didn’t order a plate of gyro, I wanted it as addition to salad. She then explained to me that the portion of gyro was much smaller on the salad than what they gave me. Again, I understood but this is not what I ordered. The person taking the order should have charged me $3.79 for addition of gyro then $7.49 for the chicken kabob. She agreed with me and said she would speak to the employee for future reference. I was not offered a refund for the difference nor much else. I walked out a bit annoyed and frustrated. Read moreMy FAVORITE restaurant on El Camino Real is LunaGrill. I dine in many times a week at different times of the day or late night after my one day of long work and here I found an amazing group of people working in the restaurant. I feel so welcomed, always food is so good, so yummy, so fresh and so fast delivered/cooked. The whole servers personnel is so kind, courteous, helpful, and tonight I experience an amazing situation. I received a free meal from a person who canceled their order but paid for it and one of the server came at me (Tanner) and giving me this free meal as he knows I love a chicken dish. I was so pleasantly surprised that I thanked him like 5 times for this amazing gesture. Was like a miracle in the middle of my dining in time. RM and Natalie, as well as other servers that I do not remember their names now are ALWAYS so amazing in the job they perform, they are such TEAM WORK people. From taking your order, deliver it to your table, making sure you have everything you need/want, checking on you during the meal and always they remember what you like when you come back in the restaurant.
I feel like home going in LunaGrill in Carlsbad such a clean, nice ambiance, music and such an welcoming place. I will always come back over and over as I fell joy in dining in this restaurant that I recommend to many of my loved ones...

We ordered takeout from this location during the COVID19 pandemic on 4/30/20. Understandably, it was busy. I ordered when I arrived, and expected to wait a bit. However, it took over 40 minutes for me to receive my food.
As I stood in the restaurant I was able to track who ordered when. There were a lot of curbside deliveries which, obviously I couldn’t take into account. At about 30 minutes, I noticed a bag of food placed on the counter near the registers (from an employee who wasn’t handing out orders). At about the 40-minute mark two customers who ordered AFTER me received their food. At this point I approached the counter and as I did, the employee recognized me and grabbed the bag that had been sitting on the counter for 10 minutes.
I understand that mistakes happen and that it was busy. However, knowing I was standing, waiting for my food much longer than needing to, the employee didn’t apologize or offer any excuse as to why I wasn’t called to retrieve my food. EVERY other customer’s name was called to get their food, but mine wasn’t. I had to make the effort, but having doing it after a very lengthy delay, and NOT receiving any apologies is what is unacceptable.
