Bakes of Carmel — Restaurant in Carmel

After some flaky plan changes, Turkey Day wound up set for Saturday and I was sure I’d never be able to bring home the baking in time… It was a bonafide Pie-mergency!!

I called Bakes of Carmel with my crusts crossed and was not disappointed. I knew I was in greats pans as soon as Mr. Lokre took my order, and sent over the invoice and delivery instructions.

Only 24 hrs later, and easy as pie, dessert landed on the dinner table, picture perfect and even better than Gramma used to make ( shhhh ;) After the flour settled, not even one crumb of leftovers was anywhere to be found… the pies were a smash hit, and I couldn’t be happier, or more grateful.

Even our self appointed baking queen of the family was left speechless after savoring the nostalgic flavor of Bakes of Carmel’s decadent Pecan Pie!

My hostess dreams came true this year, thanks to finding these homemade gourmet treat makers right here in our own Carmel backyard. We’ll be back to have our cake and eat it too, this Christmas, Mr. Lokre. Thank you for putting the cherry on top of our 2024...

I found Bakes of Carmel through Google. The details of his cakes on his FB page, made me want a cake even more. It was last minute, of course. I needed….wanted a bday cake for my daughter’s 21st birthday on Monday. I contacted Bakes of Carmel on Friday and they contacted me back very quickly. I let him know that I was fully aware that I was making a request at the last minute and had no expectations. My order was taken and we agreed with simplicity, due to the last minute. I was sent photos of similar cakes/sizes and they were prefect. I set my pickup time and was invoiced on Sunday. I picked up on Monday and boy was I surprised. This is our second time ordering from Bakes of Carmel. The first order was of an apple pie, which happened to be the best apple pie we've ever had!!! This time, we ordered 1 pumpkin and another apple pie and were surprised with a butterscotch pie! The butterscotch pie was a special surprise for us. It happens to be my husband's favorite. We had inquired about one when had placed the order. Suresh had never made one before, and it wasn't on the menu. However, that didn't stop him from going above and beyond by making us one! How incredibly sweet and thoughtful of him. We couldn't be more pleased with our pies!!! Such thought, love, and care was put into the making of our pies.
