I stopped in, eager to pick up some gluten free pastries. Also, i have someone close to me that is on the spectrum and wanted to see what it was like so i could suggest to them a new job opportunity. I had a closed bag from Tous de Jours with macaroons in it and woman emerged from the back of house and scolded me "you cant have that bag in here because you will send our customers to the hospital!!" ... I was so shocked that I just walked out. Macaroons are typically gluten free, and to think... there were no other customers in the store aside from me and my sister. I will not recommend it as a work place for someone on the spectrum because I wouldn't want them to be subjected to such rudeness. Unfortunately I will not be back and I will spread the word around the community. And I read some of the responses and the attitude is disturbing and all the reviews must be from interactions not involving the woman I encountered. I couldn't wait to see what i got as a reply. I love to see this woman make excuse for horrible service. Instead of being polite and saying "ma'am, you cannot bring outside food in here" she did absolutely scold me and my bagged gluten free macaroons were in another closed bag. And I dont like when people bring up God and try to use his name to demean others. Gluten free double bagged macaroons CANNOT send anyone to the hospital. Please educate yourself and take a lesson of good manners for the sake of those you say you're trying to help. My rating was based on the single reaction I had with you and it's a shame because first impressions matter. I thought you were having a bad day but it just seems natural for you to have a nasty defensive attitude instead of apologizing for the bad experience and encouraging me to come back...
Read moreI love No Label at the Table. I went in the other day to pick up a meal for a friend who had recently given birth. This friend is gluten-free, dairy-free, and egg-free: I wanted to get her a full meal, and wasn't sure where else to get one. The owner was there, and asked if I needed any help. I explained my needs and she immediately picked out a meal that not only accommodated my friend's dietary restrictions, but also would not upset her or her baby's stomach while nursing. I picked up turkey meatballs, zucchini soup, and garlic bread sticks. The price for small batch, allergy-friendly food was reasonable ($42 for the entire meal, which fed four). Taste-wise, I can't speak to this meal, but, I have had cakes from No Label in the past and loved them. I am not a cake person, but the cakes from No Label I've had before are moist and sweet without being overly sweet.
I love their mission, the helpfulness of the staff, and the taste of the food I have enjoyed. Parking is difficult on Carmel Main street, but I've also seen No Label at the Carmel...
Read moreThis place is wonderful! We found it today while looking for dedicated Gluten Free restaurants. The bakery is ran by a friendly, hard-working mother who's autistic son works there as well, and they only employ individuals on the spectrum.
The items were all great. None of the foods tasted any less as gluten free, casein free desserts. The cookie dough chocolate cupcake was especially good. I really like that they have interesting options too, like jalapeño strawberry bread, and the owner said they are coming up with new ideas each week and letting people vote on them on social media.
The owner went out of her way to be kind. She realized that our toddler is also on the spectrum, and she invited her to help water plants out front. The workers were perfectly accommodating and not phased by our daughter throwing a tantrum on the floor.
They definitely seem supportive of the community. I saw that their artwork on the wall is only from individuals with mental disabilities. They sell autism shirts there as well. Definitely a great place for...
