Hanby Bread Co. — Restaurant in Caro

I went here with a friend last week to try the coffee. I’ll start with saying, I’m a coffee snob. I have worked at a coffee shop for years and actually worked with the exact espresso machine this company is using for their coffee. Truthfully, the man working the counter was nice. However, when I asked for a caramel macchiato he couldn’t make me one because he had never received the training on how to make different coffees besides lattes. I said no big deal go ahead and make it like a latte with almond milk. He executed the process well, I just don’t think they know how to use the machine. My latte tasted like caramel vanilla milk…there was no hint of espresso or coffee taste at all. I paid like $5 for it, I asked for almond milk so I know it’s gonna be more pricey, but it wasn’t even good. I make better lattes, and macchiatos at home with my Walmart espresso machine. I’m all for supporting small business, I myself own a small business, however, I’m not gonna spend money on a product that’s not good. Needless to say, I don’t recommend this...

Caro had a couple bakeries to serve us many years ago...then they disappeared. Stopped at the stop light in center of town...noticed the new bakery/coffee shop on the corner....entered from State St and found a newly decorated small dining space...perfect to sit quietly, drink coffee, smell bread, and smile. I don't drink special coffee but it's available....it was near closing so selection narrow...but I bought a herb infused sourdough loaf. it wasn't cheap...but it doesn't matter now...got home and toasted a slice...had that beautiful crisp crust and delicious center...flavorful...good luck finding better..worth every penny...and best of all...support a local small business....I only saw bread and doughnuts but other baked goods available....best of luck to the dreamers that gambled on a small bakery in a...

This establishment offers exactly what Caro needed! I am highly impressed by the wide variety of options available from the bakery. The addition of quality coffee is an added bonus. I frequently visit to enjoy their donuts, which are undoubtedly the best in town. The modern interior and soothing background music create a welcoming atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for studying when I have the time. Given that the business is still relatively new, I’m excited to see how it evolves and will continue to offer my full support...
