RoccoVino's Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Carol Stream

My husband and I had an absolutely fantastic time at this location. The ambiance, etiquette of staff, cleanliness, food quality and hospitality was through the roof. If you are debating going here, just do it!

We ordered 2 appetizers prior to our main course, and they were brought out elegantly & displayed beautifully! (See photos) They were so filling & the portions are large enough to be their own meal! It was delicious! For the main dish, I ordered the Veal Marsala, and when I took my first bite, I started to tear up. My (Sicilian) grandmother used to make this and I haven’t experienced a dish that resembled her cooking skill until now. It unlocked such an emotional memory for me, I was blown away at how authentic it was made! This definitely is not a “cookie cutter” Italian restaurant. The flavors are spot on and taste just like you’re in Italy.

Our server was named Cris and she went out of her way to ensure our experience was nothing but positive. She had a professional yet bubbly attitude, checked on us frequently great job on water refills!), and was fast!

Well, I have to say we had the worst dining experience here. We sat there three hours for simple dinner. This is for a round of drinks, salad and dinner. It took an hour and a half from the time we got our salad to when our entrée was served. And an half hour before our server even got us our drinks. And the dining room was not that that busy. We understand they could have been short staffed. But the apathy the staff had for the extremely slow service was inexcusable. And then when we got our food, 2 of 4 dinners were terrible. Tasteless…and the chicken was so dry it could choke a horse. And guess what, the table next to us….said the very same. We expressed the fact that we waited a long time for food, and also expressed the fact that our food was sub par. Not too much concern on their part, just lame excuses. This was our first time eating here. We had a reservation and we were seated immediately. The waitress came to our table within a few minutes, she took our drink order and we had our drinks immediately. She took our order which was an appetizer and 2 dinners. She brought our soup and salad in like 5 minutes. Then we waited and waited she finally came back and noticed we didn’t get our appetizer yet. She said she would go check on it. Within a few minutes the manager brought our appetizer, which was hot and delicious we barely started to eat it and the waitress showed up with our dinners. That was a huge mistake.
