Me and my Husband came down for the weekend, and decided we should do lunch here yesterday since it was close to our hotel.
Once we walked in no one said anything until a customer stated we should go upstairs because it’s nice, so we went upstairs and sat at the bar since no tables were available. We waited about 10 minutes before we could even get menus. There was a girl behind the bar (she wasn’t the main bar girl that was making drinks) we tried multiple times to get her attention and she ignored us, yet there was a white lady that came and she instantly asked her if she wanted to order drinks and the lady stated yes but they (us) were here first. The server looked at us and walked away. The other customer was shocked as we were not shocked at all as we were the only black couple in the entire bar.
After about 10 more minutes the actual bar lady comes and takes our order, we asked her why the other server continued to ignore us and she just looked at us and said nothing. So after ordering we realized we are not very welcomed in this type of place. So we asked the bar lady if we can get our money back.
The door says you get 5% off if you use cash, but you have to actually ask for it to get it they don’t actually give it to you.
I honestly feel like people of color should go somewhere else to eat because the way they ignored only us definitely comes off as a racist place, or maybe just that server was racist. However, we will never ever...
Read moreBy far the worst seafood and worst customer service that we have ever received at a restaurant. For starters, we had to seek out a waitress to even be able to get our order taken. Some friends with us ordered an appetizer and it came out about 45 minutes later when our meals arrived. My husband and I ordered the crab legs and they were, by far, the worst crab legs I have ever tried to eat in my life. They were ice cold, had a chewy texture and some sort of white froth all over them. Half of my husbands didn't even have meat in them. When our waitress asked us how everything was, we told her how our crab legs were unlike any we had ever eaten (in a bad way). Her reply was that they looked like normal to her and she would check with the owner, whom she said was her brother. When she came back (15 minutes later) she said that her brother said there was nothing they could do about it. I told her that was horrible customer service and that she could have at least offered to get him something else. Her response was just "sorry, there's nothing we can do." I told her we would never be back and all she said as she was walking away was, "that sucks." Yes that does suck because we had to pay $50 for a meal that left so much to be desired. Stay away from this place, and instead eat at a local restaurant that actually values their customers...
Read moreI’m so disappointed in this place these days. I’ve been coming for years & the service is only getting worse & worse. The last time I went was the this past weekend. The husband & I went to enjoy the beach because we have stayed quarantined from Corona for months now. We thought instead of going in for dinner, we would pick up. Once we finished down at the beach, my husband decided to call & place an order. We are aware that we weren’t far away but we were not trying to stand in a bar & wait for food for health purposes. The girl who answered rudely said they don’t take phone orders and hung up. That should have been our first sign. So we walked down the road, my husband goes in to order. An hour later (as I’m outside waiting) my husband receives our food only for the guy who was carrying to drop it his food & have to remake it. Then once we open our food (after we left), my husband’s “buffalo” chicken wrap was awful. There was no sauce on it. They did not offer us fresh drinks which were melted by the time we got the food. The staff was not friendly at all. It’s sad that this business would put all this money into making the building look nice but not work on the service. At this point you’ve lost 2 longtime customers.
