Totally forgot about this place until yesterday. About a year ago I came across this wonderful restaurant while riding my bike on Carolina Beach. I stopped in yesterday to get some of the best Thai food in this area. I'm not kidding here. If you read my reviews you know I like my Thai Food and since I never reviewed them a year ago, I wanted to make sure I didn't let this opportunity pass. I ordered the fresh basil rolls again just like last time and they were spectacular! The dipping sauce is a spicy, yet sweet flavor that is to die for and they are made on the spot fresh! Wonderful! Then there's the main dish, Shrimp Pad Thai, another perfectly prepared dish. All the ingredients were there that you would expect with good Pad Thai. The flavor throughout is almost a wood fire smoke taste that hits your pallet with each bite. One special thing I'll note is all the shrimp tails where cut off. I really appreciate that! It's very nice to just take a piece of shrimp and just wrap it in the noodles and eat it; not having to worry about cutting off the shrimp tails. Nice touch guys! And the service both times has been amazing! Very friendly and pleasant and most of all attentive to my needs. Reasonably priced and better than average Thai food. Like I said, one of the best in this area and I've eaten at them all! I'm going all out here with a 3 song review, I'll sing, Better Than, The Road Less Traveled, and an instrumental, Take the Time! Thanks guys for a wonderful meal to help me forget about the...
Read moreThis was my first time here after wanting to try it for a while. I ordered the pad Thai with shrimp to go. This wasn't the best but also not the worst pad Thai I've had. It was good but not great. The flavoring was nice but there was an all around dryness to the meal. A main issue for me is that the shrimp tails were left on the shrimp. I never understood it when places do this. I've been at Italian restaurants too where they leave the tails on the shrimp in the pasta. It doesn't make sense. It's hard to take them off without just grabbing the shrimp and pulling them off. The shrimp is usually hot and now you had your fingers all in your food. It's just a weird choice to make. Finally, the shrimp was SO OVERCOOKED. I'm pretty sure dust came out of one of the pieces when I bit into it. I understand they cook more while in the to go container but there are ways to avoid this. I've had other shrimp meals to go where the shrimp was perfect. I would try this place again but I wouldn't be in any big hurry. Oh and the shrimp didnt seem like it had been marinated or even seasoned with anything so it was just dried out boring shrimp. I guess 90% of what I didn't like about my meal was shrimp based. I'll just keep it plain next time. It was a cute restaurant tho, the people working were very friendly and the food...
Read moreSorry to say we were disappointed in this place. We ordered delivery to our hotel room so it 'may' have given a different experience than if we had eaten there but this review is based on delivery experience and food quality. Instead of them delivering the food directly to our room (which we paid a delivery fee and a great tip for, adding extra $12+ to our bill), they called us from downstairs, outside of the lobby to get the food. Ok, whatever, nice lady but not what we expected. The food itself was meh. The spring rolls were the frozen brand we buy at home, the summer rolls were the best part of the meal but seriously lacking protein - the tofu inside was miniscule, the beef fried rice was OK but nothing special and seemed to have frozen vegetables in it. The chicken curry dish we couldn't finish. The chicken curry had frozen chicken, peas, and carrots added to larger freshly cut carrots and a curry that was watered down without enough coconut milk. With our delivery order we also didn't receive any silverware, chopsticks, or napkins. Sigh. We really wanted to love this place but sadly this was a miss across the board for us. There are so many fantastic places to eat in and around Carolina Beach, this unfortunately means unless we see other phenomenal reviews in the future, we are likely...
