Order some fries and a third pound burger

Way overpriced

The living here for years never tried them until today kept hearing how good they were so maybe my expectations were higher

The fries comes in like a little paper cup that you normally get a drink from like it's real small maybe 6 oz

The fries themselves are not too too bad crunchy good size crinkle fries and have some type of seasoning on it

But if you don't eat them right away they get kind of hard when they get cold it might because they're slightly overcooked

Now for the burger wasn't too bad but nowhere close the best burger in the area 1/3 pounder try to turn into a smashburger all it did is make the edges hard as a hockey puck so I only ate about 80% of the burger the ages were just so hard and crispy not good

Paying over $16 for just a burger and fries overpriced yes but you got to keep in mind they're in a tourist destination if they were over the bridge way overpriced

Where a lot of places offer $10 meals that come with fries and drink and a burger especially during lunch specials

Does staff seem very friendly and nice which is how it's supposed to be when you're in customer service

The location outback wouldn't be as bad if they didn't have bird poop in some areas because it's outdoor with no covering

Now some of these things might change when they move over to the other building

But normally customer service goes down the drain when you expand

Not sure if I will try them again due to the pricing at current location but once they move in a couple of months maybe I might try to see what changed

By living in the area for about 4 to 5 years hearing all about them they do not reach...

I had heard many things about this little hamburger joint so I decided to give it a try. If you like slow service and very average burgers, this is the place for you. The website advertises dine in and that's misleading. There is an outside patio that offers no protection from the weather but no inside dining. There were two orders ahead of me. After I placed my order, I was told to go outside and I would be called when my order was ready. 20 minutes later I was called to come get my order. I wish I could say it was worth the wait, but it wasn't. The best thing about the burger was the bun. It was soft and fresh. The burger was tasteless because of what I suspect to be low-fat content. Probably a cheap 85/15 blend that could cause the lack of flavor in the meat. Additionally, the burger was topped with red onions; a real no-no for true burgers lovers. Red onions on salads; yellow, sweet onions on burgers.

The portion of fries was enormous. Unfortunately, the fries were coated with Lawry's Season Salt, not to the liking of a great many people. The fries could have been amazing if they were just cooked and salted.

Apparently, this burger was rated the "Best in Wilmington." I see this often. When the balloting for the "Best"opens, the employees flood the balloting for their own restaurant. Can't say if that happened here but this burger would never win my vote for "Best " of anything.

I'm not sure if our families meal was a fluke or what. We visited yesterday late afternoon. But the burgers we got tasted like the burgers we would get if we went to our uncle Jims home for his cookout where he smashes the meat together cooks it, doesn't season it throws it on a bun with tomato, lettuce, mayo and he calls it the best burger he's ever had. All our burgers were bland. No flavor, the buns must have just come out of the fridge or something since they were all really cold. Which was weird for us biting into a cold bun and then the warm burger. The fries in our opinion were heavily over seasoned while the $8 onion rings were not seasoned at all. We had a family of 5, 3 kids 2 adults and spent $75ish & $86 (after tip). It is kind of dumb having everything al carte but I guess for the owners pocket its a good choice. So maybe since everything is al carte we must have skipped the part where we pay $5 more for the cook to add seasoning to the burger patties. I'm kinda of surprised this place has as many reviews as it does. I'll probably give a 2nd chance in the future but I would have to pay for just a burger to see if the this time was a fluke. The outside patio where we ate is nice. The facility was clean as well. The staff at the front counter were very helpful &...

This burger joint in Carolina Beach actually lives up to the hype. Island Burgers and Bites has moved into a new location, right behind their old one in the gas station. It’s a great lunch spot with outdoor seating, good parking, and unreal burgers — no literally, voted the best in North Carolina! #bestburger #carolinabeachnc #carolinabeach #islandburger #ncfoodie

I was both surprised and not surprised that one of the highest rated burger places in Carolina Beach was a grill located in gas station convenience store. Sometimes the best places are very local. This is one of them. The menu itself is limited and built around grilled and fried food. Given the limited workspace I would have significant cross-contamination concerns were I GF. We ordered cheeseburger, fries, and a drink X2. With tip ~$30. PROs: - Generous portion size on the burgers with well-balanced add on options - Fries were hot right out of the fryer - Lovely view of the pier from the limited patio seating CONs: - Lettuce was chopped and pretty low quality - Hamburger itself was not well seasoned and relied on other components to deliver - Fries were not fresh cut - Out of milkshakes when we went - Online ordering offline when we went PANDEMIC NOTEs (hopefully irrelevant by the time you read this): - Mask enforcement is loose in the store. No one monitoring on the patio. - You will need to touch the handle of the convenience store door, sign a touchscreen pad (if paying via CC), pick up cups, lids, and straws to get your drinks, as well as pull napkins from napkin holders. - You can wait outside for your food on benches.
