After a few nights in Carolina Beach, we finally found where the best food is. This little spot is an absolute GEM, and has creations and flavors that are truly inspired.

To start off, we had the ceviche of the day (langostine) and tuna poke. There was SO much langostine meat... and it was perfectly tender and delicious.

The tuna poke is BY FAR the freshest and most delicious tuna you will find in CB. Hands down. Bet my wallet on it. Portion size was easily shared by 2, but could certainly be am appetizer for a larger group without a doubt.

For entrees we had the Polynesian Chicken and the Pineapple Shrimp Fried Rice.

The chicken was super crisp, with a very flavorful breading. Perfectly cooked, and served with two sauces and a side. Opted for the Mac N Cheese and it did not disappoint.

The Pineapple Shrimp Fried Rice was incredible. Photos online drew me to it, and someone from across the bar asked "hey, is that as good as it looks?" Better. So many subtle flavors and textures, all perfectly balanced.

This place was SO good, we made a reservation to go back tomorrow night to try more things off the menu - AND to have some tuna poke again. That's worth the return trip alone.

Rebecca was fantastic, and took the time to answer questions we had about the menu and the history of the restaurant.

I cannot believe this place didn't have a line out the door at all times. It's small, and open limited hours, but hands down is authentic, flavorful island food. You will not be disappointed!

Places like this deserve a special sixth star to sent them apart from other 5...

WONDERFUL, DELICIOUS & OUTSTANDING SERVICE!!!

Oh my goodness if you are thinking of going here, don’t think over it any longer you need to just go and try it.

Service 5⭐️ Make sure you call ahead and make reservations. The place is a bit small but quaint. The staff is all super friendly and welcoming. Our waitress was Breyann she was super nice and helpful. Very friendly and kept checking to make sure we were doing well. Miranda was also another waitress that talked with us some and was very kind. The owner was there answering phones and talking to customer. Very polite and nice guy. He also stopped by to see how we liked the food. This is an outstanding place to go to and we will certainly be returning when we come to the beach.

Food ⭐️ We ordered one classic mojito and a berry mojito and they make their own berry mix and it was delicious. I had the catch of the day which was grouper with a delicious sauce on top, French fries and succotash. Fish flavor was out of this world and the succotash I could have just had that alone in massive bowl. My husband had the black beans, coconut rice, maduros (sweet plantains), with a cabbage salad and he added shrimp to it. Being Hispanics we know our rice, black beans and plantains and this was all top notch. The grilled shrimp was cooked perfectly and was tasty.

In all and all this is by far our top restaurant at...

UPDATED: In response to the unprofessional reply from, who knows--management, the owner, one of the cooks who wanted us to add $6 to buy the kitchen staff a round???--your tiny little establishment wasn't even full, and if it were, one PROFESSIONAL server could have handled the entire place. I held back on my review in order not to be rude, but you have no tact. I don't know WHAT you're talking about with the Lauren and specials comment, so maybe know what you are talking about when you reply, and use any feedback positively to IMPROVE. Did you miss the part where I said there was a total of only 8 customers at one time? Do better. **

Cute place, but I was really disappointed in the food. The pita chips were delicious and tasted freshly made, but the smoked fish dip had a sweet taste, not smoked, and it was like the low quality premade dip you find in a supermarket. The salad was bland, dressing was average, the mahi was dry and overcooked. The worst part was the service, though. For such a small place with a total of 8 customers at one time, we still had to wait for every little thing, when the server actually came around to check on us. She also spilled my some of my drink and said she'd bring another one, and never did. When you have such a small amount of customers to deal with, the service should at least be top notch to make up...

My husband really enjoyed the scallop special $30 so 4 stars. I had the rice and beans and added shrimp $23. It was good. I get increased prices and all, but I agree with another reviewer about the rice and beans just being very simple without flavor and the shrimp tails on still and had no seasoning at all. The drinks were cute in the tiki cups about $11 each but I could taste the juices more than the alcohol and it just was full of ice. I was hoping the dessert would be good because it was a chocolate coconut cake. I honestly saw one of the kitchen staff licking the beaters from a handheld mixer as they walked over to the dishwasher. And I thought ok in house made deserts. However, the cake was pretty dry. The coconut the icing tasted great but we did not even finish it. The parking is a joke if you get a spot. You have to hope that you can get out of the parking spot as well and that people don't hit your car as you park. Inside is quaint, but I also agree could use a little updating with table and chairs, you are just crammed in, and the music is a little loud for a tiny place. However the service was great and if that's how somebody wants to restaurant to look good for them. Just not a return place for us.
