I was born and raised in the South and these scratch made biscuits are absolutely amazing. The various biscuit sandwiches they've created are unique and beyond delicious. They have a brisket/coleslaw biscuit that is to die for! I was visiting Carolina Beach and out of the 5 days I stayed, my wife and I stopped in on 4 separate occasions. On my last day I grabbed one last brisket biscuit, 4 plain biscuits to bring home for my daughters to try and a key lime pie (also amazing - they have a large selection of baked goods). They're personable, friendly and everyone had a smile on their face. They also support local NC farmers which is a huge plus. Nikki and her wife have created something magical at this place. I can't recommend them enough. I never write reviews but was compelled to take the time to support this business. I visited as a stranger and on my last day I left, I hope, as a friend. This local small business deserves nothing but 5 stars, I wish I could give them 100. I will visit The Southerly Biscuit & Pie every single time I return to the area. Nikki, thank you, you're amazing (and so is everyone else)! If you're ever willing, I'd love nothing more than to get ahold of your brisket recipe, it's some of the best brisket I've ever had (and I make a mean brisket...

These guys are consistently delicious!

Update edit - 07/23 so I know the owners sold and was aware of it but I didn't realize how much a dip in quality it is. The food was once handmade catfish and brisket and now almost definitely are Sysco filets and brisket (or US foods pick your poison) one of those huh this breading is way too uniformed. Plus the biscuits are hard to swallow less fluffy, more dense. The staffing was off too, previously it was one awesome dude manning the counter and going to the back to help on expo when it was busy. Now there were two ladies manning the counter that were chit chatting with customers waiting on food while there were three customers still waiting to place an order, there was no this is a place of business feeling more like someone invested in as a fun project for someone who is bored. It's a bit of a disappointment because this establishment really had a uniqueness about it I loved and instead it's all been replaced. That's okay, I enjoyed the experience I had before and will like the memories I had from it. Plus they said my name and then handed my food to the person they were chit chatting with whose name was not mine. I didn't really enjoy seeing my food immediately passed off and having to speak up and say no I think...

Whenever we come down, we've now found our breakfast place! Aside from the scratch made biscuits, local meats and berries and such, the eggs were cooked perfectly and the biscuits were not only dense and filling but not were the perfect texture! I am always skeptical with biscuits because so many are dry and small, but these were the best I've ever had. I am even contemplating trying the biscuits and gravy since I really don't like it and was told that I just haven't found the right ones yet. I figure, if these aren't something I'd like from here, then I truly just will not ever like them.

Of course, the owners were the absolutely most sweetest people. True Southern hospitality and genuinely just, nice. These are the type of people that you'd like to visit and support, even if the food wasn't as amazing as it is!

Thank you for an amazing experience on our way to head back home. We'll see you when we come back in a few weeks!!!

After going to their sister dinner spot the Surf House Oyster Bar, I headed here the next morning for breakfast. I wanted to get the"Hot Hot Catfish" biscuit but my acid reflux was acting up so I settled on the fried chicken biscuit. All I'm going to say is, I'm going to take medication to have the catfish because the chicken biscuit was so good. The chicken breast was lightly battered, seasoned to taste and served on a fluffy biscuit. The biscuit was not flour tasting or heavy. It had the simple complexity of an old southern made biscuit done right. The breakfast sandwich was served with a homemade aioli (mayonnaise) that was tangy with a hint of sweetness that complimented the chicken and was juuust enough. Portion size was appropriate. This is the takeout breakfast place where you take food back to your hotel, or sit on the patio or beach and savour good food and the surroundings that we submerge ourselves in to create our memories. Lovely.

It was a Sunny Saturday Morning, we wanted a quick breakfast and heard this place has some of the best biscuits in NC. We were not disappointed. Upon entry I felt like I was going to a bluestone sandwich shop. Nice beach yacht theme with a small set up. We ordered the friend chicken biscuits and some gravy. After ordering we were provided with some free mini biscuits filled with chocolate (amazing). They had some cool mugs, shirts, apron, bags for sale as well. There is not much space inside to eat just a few standing rails. Outside the beverage place next door has some seating, not sure if it’s normally allows to customers from southerly to eat there, but did it as nothing else was open. Good spot.

My cousin and I stopped by for lunch, and are blow away by how good the food is! I had the bologna and pimento cheese biscuit, and it was amazing! The tender biscuit, beautiful thick grilled bologna, and delicious homemade pimento cheese. My cousin got the Southern BLt, and was very impressed with it! 10/10 can’t recommend this place highly enough. Super friendly staff, had some cheeky banter with the chef, and I bought a t shirt to support the business and also bc it a a gorgeous blue and super soft material. Looking forward to trying other menu items, especially the pies. Will visit again next time we’re at Carolina Beach.
