My husband and I came here for my birthday today so I had hoped this would be great! My husband ordered the hash browns plate (waffle, eggs, 2 sausage patties, 2 hash browns & a regular coffee) while I ordered the chicken salad on a croissant (pickle on the side) with an Irish cream iced latte. They brought out his plate with scrambled eggs, a waffle and 2 sausage patties. They said the hash browns would be out shortly. About 5 minutes later, they bring out his hash browns but still no sandwich for me. Another 5+ minutes go by and the staff brought out my food, only to say, “oh we didn’t know you were gonna wait, do you want me to heat it up again?” 😑 He declined, as we both needed to eat. I’ll start off with the positives. The chicken salad croissant sandwich was really yummy! The chicken salad is made to order with a selection of mix-ins. There was plenty of salad on the croissant too. This was fantastic! The Irish cream iced latte was also perfectly sweetened (not too much) and was the perfect thing to go with my meal. Now, the not so great 😬 My husbands entire meal. Ha. He took one bite of the hash brown and spit it out. He said, “you can tell how long these have been in the freezer because you can taste the freezer burn” yuck. The eggs tasted like they were made from powdered eggs and were inedible. He ate the waffle and sausage begrudgingly. I gave him some of my chicken salad which he also agreed was quite good. So even though I’m giving them a 3, I would still eat here again. Just not for...
Read moreI definitely recommend this place if you're in the area and need a quick but delicious bite to eat and a good coffee or tea. I can only speak to their breakfast offerings and iced coffee, at this point, as I had the egg & meat plate and choose to go with iced coffee instead of hot. Opted for the waffle and it was definitely an on point, plate sized, deep Belgian style waffle that I thoroughly enjoyed. The sausage was also very tasty, not over cooked but done, and didn't leave me wanting more like a lot of other places do. The eggs are either a bought scramble mix, our a pre-blended mix, judging by the taste and texture, but still rather good, though maybe a little on the salty side for my tastes, as I usually only add pepper to eggs. The iced coffee was very good, and smooth, with a decent flavor palette. A little weaker than I'm accustomed to, as I make a cold press concentrate to taste at home with fresh roasted, fair trade, organic coffee beans , but still hit the spot just right and didn't feel or taste too acidic like some places. They told me breakfast is offered all day, but they also said they're sandwiches are really good, and I believe them. If you're having a day on the square, visiting the other shops for clothes and such, and even stones, enjoy your adventure there, and make it whole with a stop in at this little cafe, as they do...
Read moreSo I hate to give 2 stars...but, the pics are a little deceiving. The staircase in the pic drew me as I was led to believe there was 2nd floor seating. As I walked up the stairs with my son, the singular person working asked if we had meetings. I started no, we just wanted to see how the upstairs was. We sometimes have a large group meet for coffee on sundays. He said the upstairs was all personal offices. Why is there not a sign indicating this so I would not have felt called out in front of everyone in the store? We didn't even stay for coffee because only one person was working and there were 6 people ahead of us. So, to sum up, I can't speak on the coffee because I didn't have any. Customer service could have been better but I'm sure the guy was stressed. Atmosphere looked nice. Not sure if I will try again.
Update: I am appreciative of the owner for reaching out. I think that is a wonderful way to gain and retain clients. I will more than likely take you up on the offer to give it another try...
