The only reason I give this place for stars is because the atmosphere is pretty neat. I can see how a lot of people would like the look of the place and maybe get enticed into the menu. They have a lot of exotic meats and a lot of burger options here plus it looks like a pretty good bar. The problem is the execution. They put all these wonderful ingredients into their burgers and then just kind of throw it down and it's unstructured. I got the buffalo burger and it was tasteless there was no seasoning or anything. Plus the lettuce was just as huge Leaf of lettuce with a thick spine and it was like $11 and so disappointing you have to pay an additional $2 for their home cut fries which are okay but I've had better at In-N-Out. As far as the cheddar fries are concerned don't waste your money or your time. They use good ingredients but they seem to put the cheese in first and then everything on top of it so what you really good is this little boat with a whole bunch of french fries with a big block of cheese in the bottom . I never thought I would say don't eat the bacon it's rubber they must cook at that morning for the entire day.. so another words I won't be coming back here it might be good for some if you like rubbery bacon and allowed busy bustling place it has the cool factor in that it's downtown Carrollton which I love but no this was not a good burger. You can do much better at Snuffer's up the road or quinlan's bar and grill where they actually put some love and thought into their food. I do give him four starts though for trying it looks great. They just need to work on...
Read moreThis has been my second time to this chain and was hoping my first was just a bad night. It’s a bummer too bc they do a great job making this place look like it would be good. Reasons for 1 star: you have to pay before you eat, and with that you leave a tip before finding out whether it’s worth a tip. I kinda hate the guilt trip these places do, by guilting you into tipping for a meal that you have No waiter, you go get your own food when it’s ready, you wait in line to order, and the last part is that if my meal is not good, I don’t want to tip. But I did bc I always feel like I have to or risk them doing something to the food.. We got the 2 All-American cheese burgers with bacon, fries, onion rings, and fried pickles. The cheese burgers had a ton of cheese that I particularly did not care for but that’s just a preference not a negative on their part. But neither one of us liked the amount of cheese on it. It was a ton. The meat was ok, nothing special. Bacon- ok. Overall, the burgers were not worth it. Better burgers at Wendy’s. Fries were cold, onion rings were cold, fried pickles were fresh and hot but we did not care for them. Fries and onion rings were a big disappointment. You pay extra for fries, and onion rings. Not included with burger. And you pay $3.75 for onion rings before tax and tip. And they give you just enough to sit on a small plate with your burger. So to me, they really jip you. But honestly, bc the sides were no even good, it didn’t matter.
Overall, you will pay alot for...
Read moreI work in an office in Carrollton. A group of six decided to dine at Twisted Root in Carrollton. We went through the order line and all made our orders. I ordered the classic cooked medium with fries cooked crisp. I paid my bill leaving a tip and joined the rest of my party.
As our group started getting their orders, my order was not called. I gave it some extra time because of the crisp fries but still no order.
I went to the order line again and waited until I was finally able to speak to the girl who took my orders. It seemed that they lost my order (which can happen). I stood and watched as the milled around and finally “slapped” my order together.
The cashier gave a rather lame apology and handed me my tray of food. I’m glad I left a tip before hand because I’m sure I would not have left one later.
The burger was bland and over cooked and the fries were not crisp. As I was noticeably upset, the only one who spoke to me was the cashier. There was no manager interaction and there was no offer to try to make the situation right.
Not only will I never go to this location again, I will also encourage the 50+ employees of our company to never go there again.
To sum up my experience, the burger was over cooked and bland and the service was poor. You can get a much better burger at Liberty Burger, Village Burger, Rodeo Goat, LA Burger, or even Whataburger for that matter.
Although the fries were not crisp they were good, but that’s not a great review for a Restaurant that serves...
