I would not recommend this place for several reasons.
I am only in town for a week and had looked at this place and decided it was not my kind of Mexican food just from the photos alone. I’m from Houston and I’m used to traditional Mexican food from the taquería.
First off, the service was subpar. Once we were seated, it took a long time for someone to come to our table and get our drink order. I ordered sweet tea, because this is Texas, and they did not have any. When the drink order came, it was incomplete so we asked for what we were missing. It took at least 15 minutes for the waitress to come back to get our lunch order. I asked for a side of diced jalapeños and was told that they only have pickled jalapeños. That was a true letdown for me because I like heat in my food. About 15 minutes later, the food came out, and everybody’s plate was missing something. We told her about the missing items and the drink we never received and the food came back a little bit later but no drink came out so we asked for it again. after we received our food, we did not get checked on until we were all ready to go - after not getting another refill on drinks.
I will give it to them on the tortillas, chips, guacamole, queso, and salsa - they were all good.
Some of our party ordered either be fajitas or tacos al carbon - the fajitas were extremely flavorless and tough. There were several bites of my tacos that I had to spit out because I could not chew them any longer. A little bit of seasoning or marinade goes a long way. A true Texan marinates there fajitas in Shiner Bock for 24 hours prior to cooking. There are numerous restaurants across the state that do this and maybe El Rincon should look into this practice.
Needless to say, this was not a choice of mine to eat at while I was here and having to go here just proved that I was right. If you are in the mood for Tex-Tex-Tex-Mex food, and this...

Read moreI have been to this resturant multiple times. When there's a small group we have a great time. However, this past Friday afternoon we had a larger party that we had called to reserve ahead of time and had placed several big appetizer platters. The waiter that was serving us (he was an older gentleman) did a phenomenal job and was so kind and patient. However, we realized what was served on the table was not what we paid for. We spoke to the waiter and were directed to the manager. The manger was disrespectful and seemed to not be interested in helping us resolve the issue. It seemed like we were pleading for the resturant to get our order correct. Once they fixed our platter issue, we realized our order also came with free cheese dip for each table, so we spoke to the manger again. When we were ready to check out we received our bill and the bill was higher than what we were told. Again, manager was not interested in getting involved to resolve this issue.
If you have a smaller group, I highly recommend this place because it's in the perfect location. However, if you are planning to host a larger party, I would recommend looking elsewhere or making sure that everyone is on the same page with the details of your booking. Customer service was not a strength with the manager on duty, but we are so appreciative of our solution oriented and...
